But yeah I guess it warrants it's own thread. =P
I like the sound of it. Smaller scale, more focused on detail, hopefully better BAI.
Hero characters? I REALLY REALLY hope for some sort of modding tools, best LotR mod ever.
my post was first, lol

I counted a total of either 19 or 20 regions. I'm not sure if this is the final map, but just thought I would share.

Yeah, we know. Already have two posts in different threads, and an entirely new thread with the exact link posted before you.
... for everyone who missed it - http://pc.ign.com/articles/109/1093664p1.html
Right, now that we have some information about it, albeit basic and pre-alpha, who's looking forward to it?
Give reasons, and not just "I like the era". I personally miss the old STW days, and I've always been fan of the Shogun TW era, so seeing it back in action focusing on tactics with only 30-40 units available is something that I'm REALLY looking forward to.
Ja mata, TosaInu. Forever remembered.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming over France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A finished novel, published on TWC.
Visit ROMANIA! A land of beauty and culture!
Yeah he beat me by like 2 minutes. My bad. I couldn't even see either of the threads before i posted, despite refreshing the site right before I posted.

This sounds beautiful, truly. This time frame and setting has a mystical feel to it you can't get with the other games - I can't wait. I loved Shogun but so much more can be brought to life now (after an expensive upgrade ).
I still am wishing a Rome 2 for the game-after-next. The next one should be new, not sure where they can go however. Ancient times? Bit basic. The future? Not sure about that either tbh. Fantasy? Loses a key part of being a Total War game.
But getting ahead of myself, I cannot wait for this!
edit: It sounds smaller, but more focused and more involved. When I read hero units at first I thought, oh god no. But then I thought, as long as they arn't as overpowered as described in the article they could be really interesting. I like the sound of the direction they are taking Shogun. AndYESSSS for naval battles! lol

Hadn't thought about that. Now I really hope S2 is more moddable. It's about the right tech level too.Hero characters? I REALLY REALLY hope for some sort of modding tools, best LotR mod ever.
YES!!! I think CA is learning its lessons and taking from Napoleon and refining the game yet more. The fact that they're not building a new engine increases the chance that it's going to be awesome.
Can't wait, hope to see some video soon.
Yes! The only problem is the extremely limited scope of the game. I hope they at least provide the coastlines of Korea and China that will be non-playable, but still present.

They won't be because Japan didn't sent troops there during this period. That said I wouldn't be surprised to see Invasion of Korea campaign as DLC some time down the road.I hope they at least provide the coastlines of Korea and China that will be non-playable
i'm not looking forward to it.. don't like to setting, so i probably won't buy it. maybe if it turns out to be the best tw ever, but i highly doubt it
