with NTW iam back from the death and based on Mech_donals blood mod for NTW i created this little blood mod.
the mod uses complete custom blood textures and i changed the values of mech_donals code (thx to him ) a sad thing is that NTW uses a kind of "blur filter" that somehow destroys the very sharp blood textures i use - it seems that this is not changable.
but the good news are - the mod works just fine in official multiplayer! i use it every day and had never problems with it - you dont need any mod manager etc to get it to work - just place it into your data folder!
the main target of my mod is that i wanted to actually "see blood" when iam not just 1 m infront of the unit. maybe some people will say "hey its unrealistic - i dont want a blood fountain", but i think i found a good "middle way" between realism and visibility. (visibility goes first for me ) that the blood has the behavior of a little fountain is a code side thing and will be changed maybe later (when its possible...)

[things to do:]
-cannon ball (buckshot and howitzers work) impact blood does not work :/
-blood on the ground (99% not possible) edit: done with a trick

Update: 1.0b allows the things from above + blood on the ground.
but attention: blood on the ground is NOT possible without major code changes. so this is just a trick. i changed the decal of the howitzer craters. so you will only have blood around ALL howitzer craters! (even when you miss!) my howitzers always hit so it looks cool though ;-).
i like the effects and it adds atmosphere to the battlefield. when you dont like the idea download the thing above...
