    Default Hurray!! provincial campaign (rtw 1.3) works!

    A BIG THANK YOU!!!! for alpaca`s hgt converter !!!!!!

    I changed all txt files of my custom campaign, made from linedogs old "new province mod" to match the new file layout after 1.3/BI.
    Today i used the converter to get the heights.hgt, started my provincial campaign and it loaded successful!!!!!!!!!!
    The first game year, as Julii was resolved without errors!

    Provincial Campaigns under Rtw 1.3 are possible again!!!!

    Things you have to care for:

    all provinces have the recource "slave" included in descr_regions.txt

    the provinces under roman control have "macedon" as culture tag, all roman_julii etc. are removed

    no more "0" as triumph point value, all have "5" !!

    !!!!! decr_strat: slave section: !!!!
    old line:
    character, sub_faction britons, Brigomaglos, general, age 20
    new line:
    character sub_faction britons, Brigomaglos, general, age 20

    the line "settlement_tax 51" is removed from all settlements!

    Great. If you would now convert the Mundus Magnus map I would marry you for sure. Even though I'm not gay, that would not matter in this case .

    Glad to see you got it working webbird. I had problems at first too, before the convertor came out.

    That's great news. Hope ngr will read this to make a new mundus magna version. But for now I'll test this myself...

    I hope someone makes a large, MM-style map for RTW 1.3 soon. Thanks webbird for your efforts in showing that similar things can be done.

    His post was related to the problem of adding new buildings if you want to recreate map.rwm (the game seemingly creates a corrupted map.rwm if you change building information before creating the rwm)

    The changes will be done after according to everyone like!

    Godzilla to convert the mundus magnus map is no big task, just let the HGT converter read the heights.tga and you have it. But to adapt all the txt files is another story and if the game changes of mundus magnus work with 1.3 another question.

    Roberto, sorry i have not tried to convert Mundus Magnus, therefore i can not tell you all you have to care for to get it working.

    Vlad, which map do you need???

    DarK_RTW, don`t ask me why or the reason for CA`s changes to the file layout, i don`t know but we have to change our old files in the same fashion or they don`t work.

    Praetorian, the mod is my personal version of linedogs old "new province mod 1.22, i can not publish my version without linedogs permission because of copyright reasons. I have to ask for it if he is still available here.

    But i can show you how it looks :O)

    Default how to move the world ;O)

    I can not give advise for mundus magnus because that mod takes some more influence on rtw
    then common provincial campaigns and it`s possible that some features are not compatible anymore
    but that`s my thoughts and don`t need to be the case.

    What i have made to make my mod playable again, i hope it works for you too:
    ...............................................
    Within your default mod folder, campaign\my mod create the folder "ingame maps"
    to this folder move all faction maps.

    Now a little renaming must be done because ca made some changes:
    map_gaul = map_gauls
    map_german = map_germans
    map_brutii and all other roman = map_romans_brutii etc.

    in the main mod folder also rename the roman leader pics:
    leader_pic_brutii = leader_pic_romans_brutii etc.

    from your patched imperial campaign folder copy
    descr_win_conditions.txt and descr_events.txt to your mod folder.

    your mod descr_regions.txt:
    ...........................
    change all culture tags with roman factions to macedon
    add the resource slave to all provinces resource lines, look at the patched one for
    the imperial campaign for guidance at which position in the line it should be placed.

    your mod descr_mercenaries.txt:
    ..............................
    use a copy of the patched vanilla version and enter your provinces to the various
    mercenary pools without changing anything else for now.

    your mod descr_strat.txt:
    allways look at the patched vanilla desr_strat for orientation of layout!!!!
    .........................
    this is the most difficult to advise because every mod has some unique problems to solve in
    that file. i have a very vanilla like setup and that made it very easy :O)

    playable faction section,
    copy the playable\noplayable stuff from patched vanilla or from the
    "all factions playable mod"
    remove the win condition part and add the brigand\pirats spawn lines.

    make the needed layout changes for landmarks section, resources section, emitters section
    , events section, why? because when you look for errors that sections are out of question :O)

    factions section:
    ..................
    from every settlement, remove the "tax 51" line!

    at the top of the julii/brutii/scipii part add the superfaction line:

    faction romans_julii, fortified caesar
    superfaction romans_senate

    for every named charakter which is equal to vanilla just copy the vanilla lines for
    charakter traits and ancillaries and overwrite your mods lines
    but take care for map coordinates!!! ;O)
    (why? if traits or ancillaries have changed with the patch you dont have to worry for now :O)

    important!!
    old vanilla had command 0, influence 0, management 0, subterfuge 0 in the first charakter line,
    this has changed!!!!!

    if possible copy also the charakter record and relatives section from vanilla and overwrite your version
    if you added custom relatives and charakters, take care.

    if you made all those changes we come to the slave faction section:
    ...................................................................

    charakter line:
    Attention! Layout has changed!
    old line:
    character, sub_faction britons, Brigomaglos, general, command 0, influence 0, management 0, subterfuge 0, age 20, , x 36, y 142
    ..................
    new line:
    character sub_faction britons, Brigomaglos, general, age 20, , x 36, y 142

    again take care for traits and ancillaries!

    hopefully all your subfaction choices and rebel-troop choices are correct! ???
    check it!

    now copy the core_attitudes and faction_relationships parts from the patched vanilla strat and
    add it at the bottom of your strat file.


    *sigh* and the final touch:

    use Alpaca`s HGT-Converter,
    let it read your map_heights.tga and you get your needed map_heights.hgt add the file into
    your mod folder and start RTW 1.3, choose your provincial campaign,faction and...

    ****hold your breath****

    my mod was fully functional then!!! if yours not, don`t blame me for your errors!
