Wonderful!
Thanks to the help of Polecat, Newt and especially Irishron even a computer dunce like me has been able to install and play this mod. I am indeed impressed. Medieval II is very good but Regions and Provs is superb. It is so in at least three main ways: artistically, psychologically and strategically. Artistically the map is lovely and a joy to play on, landscape and cities. The addition of heraldic devices and titles, as well as the offices and other minions helps both the visual pleasure of the game and the variety of game play. Psychologically this mod simply feels more like a simulation of the Middle Ages than does the original. But it is in strategic possibilities that it really shines. The huge number of new provinces opens up vast new possibilities, especially in geographic areas that were somewhat cramped in the original: the British Isles, Northern Italy, the Low Countries and Anatolia especially. The new factions, all of which, interestingly, are on the perifery (sp?) of the world also add great flavor and scope of new adventures.
But my favorite additions have got to be the new character traits. The addition of a supply factor fills a true void in the original and the enhanced volatility of the characters Loyalty is both true to the history of the times and a most interesting aspect to have to deal with.
Thanks to those who made such a wonderful game and those who helped me get to play it!

Re: Wonderful!
Irishron, I now see from other threads that you are the one responsible so I direct my thanks directly to you rather than to vague 'those responsible' figures. Well done. I don't have much oportunity to go online but just today I found, as you can see from my other threads, whole areas of play I didn't even know exist. Great game, I find I can play it hours at a time and not tire of it; something I can say of no other wargame I've ever played and I am in my 50th year of wargaming now. Excellent.
