See, I never read Vulkan Lives, so the entire plot with Curze and Vulkan was new to me, and I found it pretty awesome at the time. Then I went back to read reviews for Vulkan Lives and discovered that Vulkan died from a fork, and was pretty glad I skipped that. I definitely don't like Unremembered Empire nearly as much as Know No Fear, which I put up there with Abnett's Necropolis as some of my favorite action sci-fi novels... period, but I actually enjoyed Unremembered Empire, especially the bond between the Iron Warrior Forgemaster and the Imperial Fist sergeant. I loved that part... but I can see why most people found it to be a bit drab. I just want to finally get to Terra.

You don't need to read the series to know that Vulkan is still alive, we just don't know where he is.

Isn't that the case with most loyal primarchs? Many disappeared into the warp to fight and come back later, or in a coma somewhere?

Yes, but they're starting to return. The 13th great copnay of the Space wolves has returned after 10.000 years and they're led by an unknown great wolf who is more than likely Russ himself, rowboat is healing, even though it's physically impssible, and more than half of Vulkan's artifacts have been found.

I may not have paid the high price but I really can't say.

GW gets enough money out of me given I am an avid modeller.

Just unleash the wolves, and they should set things right. No need for meaningless ruins or heretical temples

like the scene of anakin walking up there with his clone troopers, or the scene in the Old republic cgi vid of the jedi temple burning etc etc..

except replace clone soldiers/sith guys with the wolves.. would look pretty sweet and appropriately sci-fi

Who doesn't love humongous space cathedrals?

It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it.
