I thought that silly story was called Noah's Ark, not Moses' Ark.

    1) Depends what language that particular copy is in.

    2) Like Peace said, it was Noah, not Moses.

    3) OK.

I have one! A famous WWII aircraft carrier at the Battle of Midway was named after a Biblical creature. What was it? :original:

Wellll...moses DID build an ARK, but thats kinda the box that carried the ten commandments, built by the Jews at the order of God. And of course the zappy ghost thing from Indiana Jones. But there were no animals in it

I think I will repeat my question just to make sure everyone sees it:

USS Hornet? Because I doubt Enterprise and Yorktown are animals... you never know though.

Asking how many of each sort of animal Noah put on the ark would be a good question too, since the answer is not so straightforward as most people assume. He put two of every unclean animal and seven of every clean animal on.

Very good, Dr Zoidberg! The hornet was the creature that "drove the Hittites" before the Hebrews in Exodus.

Yeah but I think you'll find it was named Hornet due to its ability to strike hard and fast not because of a biblical reference. If that was the naming convention followed for ships, you would have had the USS Tower of Babel, USS 10 Commandments and the USS Passover.

No, we've already had the perpetual Tower of Babel -- The Titanic.

The guys who built those things were educated men, and must have known about the Hornet reference. Notice the name "Yorktown" also has historical significance.

For the first one there is a verse in the new testament that I'm looking for.

Question 4: In which book of the Old Testament is God more sarcastic, Amos or Job? (read them, in the New International Version it gets pretty funny sometimes)

Yeah But God really puts it to poor old Job...

    Off Topic:
"The world is a vampire, sent to drain
Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames
And what do I get, for my pain?
Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game

    Even though I know - I suppose I'll show
All my cool and cold - like old Job"

    Go Cubbies!

    1. I'm going to go with...Pharisees.

    2. He put one female and one male animal of each species on the Ark.
