You mean you never read the OP? It's right there.
Furthermore, lighten up, that post by Mitch, quite frankly, was very tongue in cheek. Please don' take yourselves so seriously, it's very unbecoming. It's a game.
Now, onto Darth himself, if anyone has
ever read my posts, they will find that I have had nothing but
positive remarks for Darth. Darth and TW have become synonomous for TW veterans.
Let me make a few points at about the Great War and Darth.
1) We don't compete with Darth, we are on different platforms. He has stated he does not want to mod NTW for various reasons, but that is the platform for the Great War.
2) We don't target the same players as Darth. He focuses on enhancing the existing Vanilla's theme with more units, better AI, etc. We focus on converting the vanilla into something entirely different - WWI. So he targets people who want to play the vanilla with Darth-esque changes, we target people who want something different entirely on a TW platform.
3) I myself was a DarthMod player until shortly before the release of NTW, at which point I left for NTW.
4) I have frequently referred to Darth as a benchmark by which other mods and modders are to be measured.
He is the driving force behind TWC's popularity, anyone who cannot see that, quite frankly, cannot see the community as a whole who with very, very few exceptions regard him as something of a resident celebrity.
5) We have been in development for
a month, Darth has been in development
for years. Think about that.
6) Mitch's remark was meant as tongue in cheek humor, get over it.
