Actually its a shame you can't change NTW difficulty mid-campaign as I find VH/VH is best at the start but gets a real pain in mid-game due to the endless spamming of enemy full stacks.

I remember in Morrowind I would start out at the default 50% difficulty and increase it by 5% every time my character got killed - made the game play very differently as I actually had to run away a lot and was regularly chased all the way back to the nearest city by irate atronachs or vampires...

I dunno about you guys but I find myself using spy abilities (except assassinate general, I just don't like doing it personally lol) a lot more on VH. Especially sabotage army.

Hard - Hard.... instead of a genuine AI challenge the AI just gets unfair perks and bonuses, I hate to see my Old Guard get defeated by regular line on VH

Normal - campaign, Hard - battle.

I dont want to waste my time fighting 30 same stacks over and over again. I also dont need idiotic diplomacy. And I dont need unfair bonuses that ruin feeling of game, like Old guard being routed by two militia units.

mostly VH/H because of the unrealistic bonusses the ai gets in battles,but also VH/VH when i feel like it!

For now, my first and only campaign, is set on Normal/Normal.
And I regret it. Why? Because I can win any battle with ease and limited casualities with a crushing but totally stupid strategy:
all my troops form a line, with 5 or 6 x 6lb obusiers in the middle, infantry on both side. Cavalry being there only to chase the enemy when it flees.
I can route armies of 1600-3000 men (reinf.) with 600 men.

Its nearly impossible to win as Napoleon in VH/VH. The AI is spamming armies endlessly, so that you don´t have a chance at all. In my VH campaign I didn´t feel like grand emperorer: I defended france, thats all I can do
