Can't save the game?

I installed the newest version from a clean install of RTW and BI, including all patches. However, I can't save the game. Anyone have any idea why this is?

Sounds like this could be a script issue. I recommend restarting it and seeing if that makes any difference.

wehn you go to menu is the save option grayed out? if thats the case i belive its a bug and theres a way to fix it, but i can't remember how exactly

well, this usually is a problem with the 4tpy(4 turns per year) script.
When you start a campaign there should appear the Advisor saying something like: to enable the 4tpy click on show me how....."
The thing is "show me how" is greyed out, but Clicking the Advisor once should do the job.However, this will work only once because the 4tpy script does not unload automatically, meaning you will have to restart the game when starting a new campaign or when loading another one.

Or go into options and tick "Reset Advisor" or similar. Then click on a city, which should bring up the portrait. Then click on it to re-start the script. You may need to give it a couple of tries though.

C.A. is correct. There's a shortcut to kill the script, though. Just hit Escape, then hit the Question Mark button. It's not well-documented because, well, I have no idea how to make that obvious. It's not that I think it is obvious now, it's just that I don't know how to make it clearer.

Once you've killed the script, then click on a city. That should call the 4tpy script again.

Cheomesh, have you actually started a new game? Your post is a bit ambigious and suggests you have just started a new campaign on a fresh install, yet can't save.
