Little late, but for all intents and purposes, the Teutogen Guard are dismounted Knights of the White Wolf in all but name.
Also, the Knightly orders are famed for fighting on Horseback, but that does not stop them dismounting/being unhorsed, and continuing to fight on foot.
Hence the decision I made for the Knights of Bretonnia in Cry Havoc. The total number of units for the Knights would stand at 10, of which during sieges, they would be limited to Peasant quality melee troops to take the walls from Greatswords, Chosen, White Lions, and Black Guard, for example. However, that was merely using Common Sense to cover a distinct weakness in the roster.
The Empire in CoW on the other hand, suffer no such weakness, if not excelling in any particular area, are more than capable, so the question arises of whether there is a need for them, and if yes, is there a space available/a less needy option.

i agree, bretonnians would be have a major weakness in the heavy infantry area plus i seriously doubt that there are that many horses in bretonnia and as for a need for them in the empire, for vanilla COW i dont think there is a need, but for submods(such as knightly orders) most definitley
