    I dont think Vienna is going to be in the game.... I think Il_Duce said that.
    It was a village by the begining of the game no way in this game it will be a power house city. But dont take my word on it

    Not exactly correct. While it wasn't a massive metropolis but it was still a fairly important city in the area at the start of the Tsardoms timeline.

    Vienna had been the capital of Austria since the 1100s and was an important local trade hub. Walls were erected around the settlement in 1200 and the settlement received city rights in 1220. By the 14th century it was the center of Habsburg power, only shadowed by Prague. I think it should exist on the map, but not with a unique model.

    Good documentary about the siege of Vienna, thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Good question Looking at the radar map in one of duce's posts and comparing it with a map of europe, i think Prague might just be out of the boundaryWould be nice if it would be in though

    - Zlatniat Vek (The Golden Age) - a 1984 serial movie about the first Golden Age of Bulgaria under Tsar Simeon I. Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
    - Kaloyan - a 1962 movie about the reign of Tsar Kaloyan and his fights with the knights of the 4th Crusade. 1, 2, 3, 4.
    - Svatbite na Ioan Asen (The weddings of Ioan Asen) - a 1975 (somewhat artistic) movie about the reign of Tsar Ioan Asen II, famous, among other things, with the many weddings he organized and used in his diplomacy. The main actor who played the tsar, Apostol Karamitev, died during the making of the movie, so in some scenes he's replaced by the actor who plays his brother.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
    - Boyanskiat maistor (The master-painter of Boyana) - a 1980 movie about the master-painter at the re-construction of the Boyana church, famous with its proto-renaissance style. Parts 1 and 2.
    - Ivailo - a 1963 movie about the peasant tsar Ivailo and his fights with Mongols, Romans and Bulgarian royalists. Parts 1 and 2.
    - Vreme na nasilie (Time of violence) - a 1987 movie, based on the great book of Anton Donchev "Vreme Razdelno" (Time of partition), about the forceful Islamization of the Rhodopes region in the 17th century. Torrent with English subtitles edited by me. Online streaming on BG: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.
    - Zapiski po bulgarskite vustania (Notes on the Bulgarian uprisings) - a 1976 serial movie about the Bulgarian uprisings against the Ottomans, based on the historical memoirs of the revolutionary Zahari Stoyanov. Playlist with 44 videos.
    - Ikonostasat (The iconostasis) - a 1968 movie, based on the book of Dimitar Talev "Zhelezniat svetilnik" (The iron lamp), about Macedonia in the beginning of the liberation movement (AFAIK, the movie's centred around a specific part of the book, concerning the iconostasis-maker). Parts 1 and 2.
    - Pod igoto (Under the yoke) - a 1953 movie, based on the classical novel of Ivan Vazov, about the struggles of the Bulgarian people under the Ottoman rule and the consequent April Uprising in 1876. Parts 1 and 2.
    - Geroite na Shipka (The heroes of Shipka) - a 1954 Soviet-Bulgarian production about the Russian-Turkish Liberation War from 1877-1878. Parts 1 and 2.
    - Kapitan Petko Voivoda (Captain Petko Voivoda) - a 1981 serial movie about the Bulgarian revolutionary Petko Voivoda (12 episodes in numerous parts)
    - Mera spored mera (Measure for measure) - a 1981 movie about the struggles of the Macedonian Bulgarians left under Turkish oppression and the consequent Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising in 1903. Playlist with 29 parts.
    - Tsar i general (Tsar and general) - a 1965 movie about the turbulent times during World War II. Parts 1 and 2.

    Loosely historical:
    - Hitar Petar (Clever Peter) - a 1960 movie based on the humorous tales about the clever folk hero. 1, 2, 3, 4


    NOTE: All movies are on Bulgarian only. The only Bulgarian movies in the internet with foreign subs/dubs, as far as I know, are Vreme Razdelno (torrent link above), the shortened "681 - Glory of the khan" (with bad English dubs and in-built BG subs) and "Gentleman for a day".

    And, please, people, don't embed videos - it creates a horrible lag on some older computers and nets. In the last two hours I've had at least a couple of micro-crashes, 3 browser crashes and a full system reboot, while browsing this page.


    P.S. If we're talking also about non-feature films, here are some short CGI animations from the Operatsia Slava show: Asparukh, Tervel, Krum (from 08:15 till the end, and till 00:20 here), Simeon (from 01:25 till 03:35), Kaloyan (from 02:40 till 05:20), Ioan Asen II (from 09:10 till the end, and till 01:35 here).
    That is a nice list Nike, but why didn't you include that movie that is called 'Kozijat Rog' or The Goat Horn??

    Please Nike, don't generalise about those facts about Western Europe... I am a Spaniard, and we also face the same problem with our history. The saddest think is that even Spaniards are ignorants of their own, and we just know an etnocentrist "Western World" history.
    Personally, I would prefer to play with Serbia or Bulgaria in TW if they were available...rather than with France or England (the classical ones...). So I am checking this forum to see this fantastic mod appear

    You're an exception, brennas. From what I've seen, I think I'm right to say that *most* (which doesn't mean all) Westerners have no clue about Eastern European history. While I may be no expert on Western European history, though at least I do have sufficient clues about it (or "most of us know about Western history a bit more than most Westerners know about Eastern history, which is largely thanks to the Western multimedias being a sort of a hegemon here today").
    And you're still better than us - many people have heard of El Cid, especially because of the Hollywood movie and the Spanish campaign in AoEII The Conquistadors (and, yeah, who hasn't heard about Spain in the age of the Great Discoveries and the American colonization).

    And I'm proud of being an exception in this subject (most Spaniards even doesn't know where is Serbia)....I recognise Westerners can't see beyond their ethnic limits, specially yankees (how many films have been done about the D-Day????). And well, Spanish history is not just Conquistadores and a rubbish american movie about Charlton Heston imitating El Cid...but that's the way it goes, we the "secondary" nations have to live under the Western ethnocentrism, or at least that's the way I see it.
