Photoshop Questions.
Okay i'm finding photoshop rather frustrating to get used to. I thought i'd make this thread for questions on how to do things. heres the questions i have so far.
1- in gimp you can alpha to selection, which selected whats been drawn on the layer. ie if you had a render, it would only select the render as the selection shape. How do i do this in photoshop
2- enlarge/shrink selection. if i have done the above, how would i then enlarge or shrink the size of it?
3- in gimp if i have the pencil i can make a dot somewhere, then use ctrl and click somewhere else and it'll draw a straight line, how do i do this in photoshop?

4- in gimp i can press and hold down the mouse wheel and then free move the image around the screen, its much easier than using the dang scroll bars, is that possible in photoshop?

Re: Photoshop Questions.
5- in gimp if you want a layer to just be a solid colour you can click on the square that selects teh colour and just drag it into the picture. Any way of doing this in photoshop, without having to use the paint bucket?
(you can tell teh shortcuts that i like using can't you lol.)

Re: Photoshop Questions.
no easier way then the paint bucket. i think. Press G for the paint bucket, and B for the brush. you can change these in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Shortcuts for tools

Re: Photoshop Questions.
Don't blame the messenger, when its corrupt its corrupt. Are you still getting corrupt files when you save?
There are a couple of things that can cause this:
- Bad RAM
- interference from another app (virus, anti-virus, disk utility, etc.)
- bad hard disk system
- a seriously malfunctioning third party plugin
i suggest moving the said file to the desktop, and open it from there, to make sure it isn't in a bad directory. Often its just a problem with your computer and or security software, i've had the same problem on my schools computers.
