Open th console and typ in:
remove_trait name of your general drink.
he said without any cheat...
to be honest, I think the way this trait is assigned is too random or too fast, so i always remove it...
but I supose that if you don't have any kind of brothel, or any buildings in that tree, should help, but to actually remove such a trait, i don't know
look at honga total war, see what triggers it, i would look it for you, but there 22 pages of it ^^', it should be in the first 10 i think
I saw this
When to test : CharacterTurnEnd
Condition : EndedInSettlement
RemainingMPPercentage = 100
RandomPercent > 90
Affects : Drink 1
Chance : 1 % When to test : CharacterTurnEnd
Condition : IsGeneral
EndedInSettlement
RemainingMPPercentage = 100
SettlementBuildingExists >= masjid
Affects : Drink 1
Chance : 3 % When to test : CharacterTurnEnd
Condition : IsGeneral
EndedInSettlement
RemainingMPPercentage = 100
SettlementBuildingExists >= c_masjid
Affects : Drink 1
Chance : 3 %

I find this to be a much better trait guide.
Dunno how you get shot of it, but I tend to burn inns instantly to avoid it. Train up some spies, then destroy all drinking holes. Build temporarily again if more spies required later. They're not that important in public order affairs, and they make a mess of the men! Who said TW was unrealistic?!
"Who is the king of earthly kings, the greatest giver of gold and rings?"
theres a small sub mod that prevents all elves and most human hero's from having negative traits like that, because it goes against the lore, dont know if it effects lesser known, random generals. Think its just really there to prevent the likes of Aragorn and Elrond from becoming alcoholic wife beaters
Some triggers from the TATW EDCT:
Drink; the alcoholic trait.
Sobriety, the anti-drink trait. A point for this one means a point less for Drink, and the other way round. However, Drink has a no going back level of 5, so after that all hope's lost for your general.Code:;------------------------------------------ Trigger Worthy_Of_Marriage_2_VnV_Trigger WhenToTest OfferedForMarriage Affects Drink 1 Chance 6 Affects Sobriety 1 Chance 12 Affects Disciplinarian 2 Chance 17 Affects GoodAdministrator 6 Chance 17 Affects PoliticsSkill 1 Chance 17 ;------------------------------------------ Trigger sitting_around_town_vnv_trigger WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd Condition EndedInSettlement and RemainingMPPercentage = 100 and RandomPercent > 90 Affects Drink 1 Chance 1 Affects Gambling 1 Chance 1 Affects Arse 1 Chance 1 Affects Girls 1 Chance 1 ;------------------------------------------ Trigger sitting_around_town_with_taverns WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd Condition EndedInSettlement and RemainingMPPercentage = 100 and SettlementBuildingExists >= brothel Affects Drink 1 Chance 2 Affects Gambling 1 Chance 1 Affects Girls 1 Chance 2 ;------------------------------------------ Trigger sitting_around_town_with_islammosque WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd Condition IsGeneral and EndedInSettlement and RemainingMPPercentage = 100 and SettlementBuildingExists >= masjid Affects Drink 1 Chance 3 Affects Rabblerouser 1 Chance 3 ;------------------------------------------ Trigger sitting_around_below_the_decks WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd Condition IsGeneral and AtSea Affects Drink 1 Chance 3 Affects Arse 1 Chance 3

givetrait drink -3 works too =p I really hate the boozer traits.
TA is hilarious when it comes to negative traiats... almost every family member becomes a burden to their region because of alcoholism and corruption. Everyone likes to have a good time in ME
My whole Elven family tree consisted out of:
- Heavy drinkers to the point some of them even became partly paralyzed.
- Diabolically degenerated sexually obsessed animals.
- Loud mouthed, profane swearers who can't control their outbursts.
I must have really gone wrong somewhere!
"He who wishes to be the best for his people, must do that which is necessary - and be willing to go to hell for it."
Let the Preservation, Advancement and Evolution of Mankind be our Greater Good.
And NO, my avatar is the coat of arms from the Teutonic Knightly Order because they're awesome.
I analysed the triggers I just posted:
Drink is gained by:
- being at sea
- getting married
- being in a town
- being in a town with brothel or higher tier building
- drunken father
Sobriety is gained by:
- getting married
- drunken father
- becoming father
- self-perpetuating, once you have it, it will slowly increase

Hahaha, nice! At least their not Chinless wonders (that they suffer from the fact that their parents had the same last name BEFORE marrying eachother) like several people became in M2TW. actually in the case of the elves thats more realistic than them being alcoholics with tourettes. The animal thing is kinda in the elven "love nature" thinking
