I can't play custom battles

make sure you aren't on the "All" era. That will cause an instant ctd

Okay, I can play battles on 1.6 just fine, so it's a 2.0 problem

Which campaign are you trying to play?

The problem may be related to the new m2tw.lnt. Attached to this post is the mtw2.rar, which contains the 2.0 version of the m2tw.lnt. Alexander of Jordan can you download the mtw2.rar, unpack it, put it in the 'mods\conquest\data\menu' folder, then try to play a custom battle. If it crashed then the problem is with the m2tw.lnt.

Make sure you back up the 1.6's m2tw.lnt before doing this.

Are you using the 1.3 or 1.5 version of Kingdoms. The 'kingdoms.exe' in you C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War will tell you which version you're using.

Try upgrading to the 1.5 version, the later version may fix this problem. The 1.5 version can be downloaded here:
