    Default Help! - installing items from OSP packs

    I require assistance in this issue. As you see, i am trying to add OSP packs, like Narf's plate armor etc etc... and well, i am doing what i think is the correct way. However, when i try to launce my game, it gives me an error message with something like "Runtime has gotten blahblahblah to quit warband blahblahblah" And i just cant seem to add items.

    I would like to know how to add items to warband. LIke sorta a guide, do this, then that etc...
    Help is appreciated

    There are 4 things to do to install Narf's armours, and that goes for all items to be installed

    1. Place the BRF file in the Resource folder.

    2. Place the DDS files (textures) in the Textures folder.

    3. Open the item_kinds.txt file: At the top you will see a number like this:

    itemsfile version 3
    601

    Increase that number with the amount of items to add. In this case 16, so it's 617.

    Scroll to the bottom of the file and paste in the items. Here's the item_kinds list for Narf's:
    Item_kinds for Narf's plate armours - 16 in total

    Hmm, they're not really showing how they're supposed to look.
    But make sure they look exactly like the other items in the item_kinds text file. Remember to save.

    4. Open Module.ini file and scroll to the bottom. Then write:

    load_mod_resource = Narf's_Plate_Armour

    That tells the game to load the new resource file Narf's_Plate_Armour. Remember to save.

    Then you can launch the game, and in Warband new items are save game compatible!

    1

    Put the textures in the textures folder, like for Narf's.
    Put the .brf files in the resource folder.

    2

    Open the module .ini and put:

    load_module_resource = *name of each brf file*
    and repeat for each brf file.

    so it'd look like
    load_module_resource = helmets1
    load_module_resource = helmets2
    or whatever they're named.

    3

    Download the item editor (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.p...,105928.0.html)
    and OpenBRF
    (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.p...c,72279.0.html)

    4

    Start up OpenBRF
    Load the files that you just placed in the resource folder.
    Load up the item editor.
    Follow the prompts, select item_kinds1.txt from the selected module.
    Follow the prompts to create a new item.
    The mesh name is the name of the helmet, in OpenBRF
    Right click each helmet, click rename, and copy and paste if it's easier.

    Then SAVE the .txt file, and you should be good to go.

    It's a rather complicated process, but if you have any more questions, or want me to go into more detail, feel free to ask.

    Oh fancy, I'ver never tried that before. Dejawolf's work is reason enough for me to see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the advice

    No, SAVAGE was the first drag-and-drop mod ever made. I just threw the stuff in there

    OK, i tried what you said COGlory, but i am certain i mustve done something wrong. I believe my mistake was when i was creating the item in the item editor, i do have some difficulty with that. Anyways, i tried the best i could, loaded up warband, and got an error-less CTD. Could you perhaps explain more in depth the item creator option in the editor? thanks

    If you'd like me to walk you through it, I can, but I have some things going on, so it might take a bit, or I just prepared this:

    It should have Narf's armor and Deja's Helmets prepared. Overwrite your old file.

    Just wondering, if you continually have an error about the item kinds tect haveing 630 items even when the number is checked to be 617 over and over again, and i reinstall and still the trouble persists, what should be done?

    Sorry about the wait,

    change the number at the top ". Open the item_kinds.txt file: At the top you will see a number like this:

    itemsfile version 3
    617"
    change it to 630
