Alright, well. I decided to start making pics, and this is my first one. I just played around with the blur a bit and expiramented on Paint Shop Pro X. Any suggestions?

well its just a seemngly random blur effect, i wouldnt say it adds or detracts from the image to any great degree

I guess its okay, but next time add more action and make it based around a person or unit, the blur I mean.

I took this during campaign , and couldn't take out the pointer....Too much sun?

Nice but IT would be nice to have half of the sun BEHIND the mountain., to do that you would have to cut it out then put it in after lighting effects..

Ha. But I don't see that it is in front of the mountain. It looks more like it is behind, but not being blocked by it. or is that jsut me.

Dude, much better! Also, try using the movie cam, it lets you get really cool angles. Also, what editing software are you using?

Well, I know about the movie cam, but I use Archers skymod, and those awesome skies don't show up in custom battle. I may sometimes do it, but I need to expirament with it. I use Paint Shop Pro X (trial)

If you don't want to buy paintshop then download GIMP, it works just the same afaik and best of all its freeware. I use it

a) KoA's point about the Sun.

b) You've left the mouse cursor in I'm afraid it totally destroys the effect of the picture.

Otherwise, it's nice. Paticually that it is in black and white; a format which I often use in my hobby of photography.

Since we have a very few submissions lately for the POD, i will take therussian91's picture and replace the old image with his.

I like his picture and he goes and takes effort to submit something cool instead of criticizing.

a) I seriously don't see what you guys are talking about. clearly, the main part of the sun is not behind the mountain.

I've done a lot of pics that had the paused button, minimap etc. Use a combination of copying small parts of the surrounding area and pasting it over the top of the area you want to hide, then 'smudge' or 'blur' to meld them with the background. Afterwards you can use a paintbrush to touch up areas that don't quite look right. Have a look at the last pic in my thread, and the links under it to the originals that I used to make it, to see what I mean. Originally I used MS paint and, though it took a long time, nobody ever saw what I had covered up. Its just practice. This 'GIMP2' software is getting better and better as I gradually learn different functions.
