Actually I'm not able to play ETW and it would be useful for me, because then I can tell you missing units etc.

As I've no news from Joedreck, obviously busy with real life, I ask for help to "skin" French units.

Most foot units are done as 3D models, but they need textures.
So, if you're volunteer to give them some colors, I will send you all informations you need to create those textures.
Someone able to add unit to the game will be welcome too

Models are uploaded into download\Empire : total war\skins & models\WIP - SYW french units models

The WIP document is not really up to date, but it's better than nothing

I think someone really needs to get this mod, overhaul it and get it released in some sort of way? as there are some brilliant units here but there are so many unit cards missing and texture problems! I have tried to do something with this mod but there are too many corrections to do and dont have the time to do it! shame as the units are great

And its creator doesn't seem to give us allowance to use his skins in our mods! At least he doesn't answer! It breaks my heart!

So what's the status of this mod then? is it finished? As toon rightly pointed out.... unit cards etc are important to any mod or it juts looks half done, well done tho on the work!!.

other than units for version 5 what other mods does it contain? i just played a cusom battle and i could here fifes and drums? is this in the version 5 then not vanilla is it, its been so long since i played empire i have forgotten.

thanks for all the posts. I will try to go forward with the mod, but my job don't let me. So what I need is a little team of people who add fo example new units into game until I working on the models and uniforms.

But Joedreck seems to be very busy with real life and doesn't respond to pm and maybe is it possible to think that "qui ne dit mot consent" (Silence implies consent)
So, if people are interesting into working to improve Sponge mod, as Joedreck request for, it will help to keep this mod alive.

For example, one of the task could be to list bugs, missing things, etc.

On the other side, I've opened a new thread for French units, thanks to Flikitos, Geronimo2006 and ACMilan88, because it will be easier to show Work In Progress, but my first intention is to add those units to Sponge Mod.

Ah ok mate i know that at the moment there are no UI or stat info, one possibility would be to use my Prussian stats cards as i have looked at his prussians and perhaps they are applicable? if you want you can use them>I would help you look for images for UI crads for the 7 yrs war but i would need to date what regiments are meant or already represented?

Lets just hope Joedreck comes back. By judging the activity of this thread he would no longer have to work on this mod on his own. Would be nice if he formed a team and aimed for the hosted mods section. Making new units outa this mod is complicated at the moment, the dbtables needs to be better organized.

joedreck was most likely about to make textures of swedish grenadiers for "euro_grenadiers_prussia2" and "3" but he never got that far. It's the same with denmark i believe.

Austrian Cuirassiers hat messed up can someone confirm this? also dragoons face messed the same as pic. It could be that some other skin pack is causing this "compatibility issuses" This is my data folder.

I can do it, but not to replacing the unit in the pack.

The Prussian standard bearer use a different hat than prussian infantry, but use the same texture.
Hat or texture need to be replace.

French "Gardes Française" need a new standard bearer, but, if we add new French units, it will not be a problem.

I'm quite busy with French units and some other requests.
Moreover, if I'm able to work on UVMap or 3D model, I'm not a skinner nor a coder.
So, it will have to wait some time before to be fixed, or wait for someone else.
