well the russians have the coolest hats ever. But apart from that on certain terrain maps their melee ability can be used to win a battle

yes, their melee is good.i guess you can build a battle around melee engagements, or use it solely in the endgame.im just always very wary of the enemy cav, causes huge routs when it hits your troops' backsides

than u only do it when the time is right or u use a reserve unit behind ur meleeing troops to shoot any cav trying to go around the back or use cav of ur own.

My russian build (no artillery) has only 3 lights, and relies mainly on a large cavalry force to wreck the enemy line, enemy forms squares (or tries) then rush up infantry, fire volleys, by the time cav is dead, charge. Russians quickly finish opponent in melee. This, surprisingly, has almost always worked. The only time I have lost with it was in a 2v2 where I wasted my cavalry fighting my allies opponent, because ally had dropped.

i dont think their too good in firefights lol, but if you use them right, ofc they may be handy.i saw an all cossack cav build on small funds yesterday.devastating because the cav is so cheap, so he outnumbered everyone lol.
and i remember it being 50 deg. c. in south iran once, though i guess thats desert.nobody goes out lol

im not sure if its been said already but changing the infantry square hotkey to something like "q" saves battles. or even just the use of hotkeys in general even though tthats the only one i use.

i didnt actually mean a save button but instead of fumbling around to click on the square button just make it an easy to reach hotkey

ohh, as in saves you from losing lol.yeah, i noticed that when you have lag, the square thing gets a bit tricky

Hell Y@$!N, when I encounter significant lag in a game my infantry takes about half an hour to form into a square, and about half of the time they ignore my order to form squares altogether!
