Default Eras Total Conquest, a seperate mod

    I downloaded the full 1.6 from 22 feb. 2010.

I didn't install it in the M2TW folder (jet), but on the desktop. I see that this mod adds/changes the following Medieval II Total War\data\ui -files:
    • battle.sd
    • battle.sd (xml)
    • shared.sd
    • shared.sd (xml)
    • strategy.sd
    • strategy.sd (xml)
I also have DLV, HRR 0.8, TheraV3, ThirdAge and Wotn which to my knowledge does not change any main M2TW files.

Will this effect the main game, the kingdoms expansion games or other seperate mods?

Thanks and rep for 1st/correct reply
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

As long as you have those files in your vanilla data folder my mod will work fine (even if these files come from another mod). If you don't have these files my mod won't be displayed correctly.

They will interfere with the vanilla M2TW and Kingdom, they may also affect Third Age. I'm unsure about the other mods.

    @2uanime

Not sure what version others used, but I backed up my files (just incase), installed Eras 1.6 | 22 feb. version. I tried the empire version and had blast then returned to Crusader Kingdoms then Third Age and it's all working like a dream !!

BTW: This mod deserves way more attention. It's a becanon of brilliance, jet it's packed in the shy and silent kid at the back of the class room. That's a shame really, I had never really heard of this before today.

I agree. This mod defenitely desrves more players and attention. I think the only thing that deters people from this is the fact that the installation is too tough, although the installer works like a dream.

Nah, it works like a dream. It's splendid and simplistic. The only thing I belive is lacking, is the visual and persistent chanting of sloagence and quote's by famous scholars some where in this area. Just look at examples from TATW and SS as an example.
You just can't ignore a war cry like that :sparta:, my friend.

And you have 2 installation threads. I have not read both sins it looks abit confusing the other, but the full 1.6 does it for me!

I agree with both of you guys, this mod deserves much more attention than it have today. TBH, if uanime5 did not contact me i would not have stop by and never tried it.

Maybe more publicity around this mod won't hurt ?

I don't know, maybe having it in the publications "2.0 is out" would help; with a complete preview.

I've posted that I've made a new version in the M2TW released mods forum, so that should inform some people about my mod.

I could try making a publication, though I haven't done this before so I'm not 100% sure what I need to do.

IMHO, this would work much better than the Mod thread.
I think you just need to contact an admin for this (e.g. jimkatalanos).
