Thread: XAI 4.0 Baseline BETA of KGCM

The limitations were put by me, for many reasons. Few of them being:

    - uncontrolled AI spam of all kinds of agents
    - balance abuse because of converting settlements (what's the point in taking that damned castle and defending it, when you can convert not-so-important town to the castle on your border instead? ... or better yet, let's convert all these castles inside your little country to cities and have 999999 florins income every turn)

Unpacking files shouldn't matter. However, when you do too many things at once, you lose track of what you are doing, and when problem arises usually clean reinstall and closely following installation instructions is the only way to be sure it will work properly.
Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense now. Was the AI just creating just hordes of Assassins, spies, diplomats, etc?

Also, was the AI actively doing balance abuse (converting not settlements back and forth)

I have never seen the AI convert settlements before in any other mod but if it was abusing that in the beta then I could see how it could be annoying

The problem here is, AI never converted own settlements, while the player could do that to his advantage. Pointless feature it was if you ask me, taking away from the tactical part of the game.

what about AI creation of diplomats, assassins, and spies? Did it just create hordes of them without the limitations?

ok just to let you know the CTD issue is not with XAI, It's with my installation of KGCM. I unpacked everything (ran the unpack_all batch file) before installing all 4 components but I'm still getting CTD's

This is strange because I've played KGCM 4.2 (without the xmas gift patch) plenty of times and never had a problem

You need to look at the directions for the Christmas patch. sometimes I install things into a blank directory, so I can copy things myself.

Yeah, after unpacking that is a common mistake. Didn't someone already mention that? Good job though, now you can enjoy.

I think the 4.2 patch negated the need to unpack but I unpacked anyways, Are there any significant differences between the general XAI files you posted and the ones Argent Usher posted

And yes I will enjoy and spread the word

Thanks for all of your hard work

Sorry Darknight, thanks for helping us get it all straightened out.
Sorry we are a little rusty on some things..Good job again, and use the files I posted please, as they are the latest and greatest.
All of them are compatible, because I pulled them out of this mod.

Also, for the future guys and gals, when you unpack the game (pack files), unpack them to separate folder ... unpacking them straight to kingdoms campaigns or M2TW root folder WILL cause conflicts and problems with many mods. You will save yourselves a lot of unnecessary hassle and pain that way.

I rechecked it again, all files are up-to-date, except for .db pathfinding file (it's corrected now).

I have also uploaded archive for those unlucky guys which didn't follow the installation instructions or messed up with unpacking the files. It might help to get the installation right, as a last resort before complete reinstall.

Lol. Portugal isn't a desert, is it? Matter of luck, you will have perfectly clear sky, too.

Is there any reason why castle tab is not shown in the building browser by default?
    descr_campaign_db.xml
    Code:
<show_building_browser_castles bool = "false"/><!--are castles shown in the building browser -->

just wanted to provide some feedback, Turkey laid siege to Sinope (this has never happened to me) with two stacks of balanced units (missile cavalry, spearmen, archers)

I tried surrounding them with two of my armies but they slipped the goose and are now roaming throughout my territory. This is tying my armies down and preventing me from making any sort of expansion

Very nice! This is what vanilla should have been

@ Puer..not too sure on that one? but the syntax of what you posted looks bad. there should be no /> after the " that would probably cause and error. so if that is an exact cut and paste. We need to fix that. Good eye. Keep at it man and give us tons more feedback, especially campaign stuff because we didn't get that far.

@ Andrewww, Thanks for giving it a wirl..must be monsoon season . Try clearing your cache, and reload your game, and see if that makes any difference, I foresee the rain clearing for you.

@ darknight237, bring on the feedback!! Give us all you can!! it will help promote XAI and only help us fix issues!! I am very glad you like!!

    to clear this issue:
XCAI\descr_campaign_db(XAI4.0 KGCM).xml contains exactly following row:
    Code:
<show_building_browser_castles bool = "false"/><!--are castles shown in the building browser -->
    then the result/bug is here:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

but if this is set to "true":
    Code:
<show_building_browser_castles bool = "true"/><!--are castles shown in the building browser -->
then the castle building browser is displayed correctly:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

It's my file, then one you requested long ago in the dev
You wondered how the battle visibility affects the player's gameplay, and so be it.

Monsoon season in Mediterranean was a joke However I see not everyone got it.

    -------------------

    For the future:

    1. go to weather_db.xml file

    3. scroll down to the bottom

    3. change the percentages for certain weather type based on climate to your fitting! (certain weather types add to 1.0 = 100% under certain climate, in summer/winter)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
