    Thanks for the link, Jom.

I guess this is a real turnover then with three nonincumbants in one election. Congradulations to all! And may God have mercy on you all.

Cheers, third time lucky, so they say

Congrats to you all, too. AL, Trax and Leonidas.

And thanks to all who voted for me. Seems I only got 5 more votes then the last election

Yes, but if in three months you choose to run to retain your seat --- you will know the meaning of 'throw the bums out'!

It's nice to see some different people for once. I'm pretty happy I got in before the likes of Trax got elected though, he comes across as having pretty high expectations

According to Squid, Trax's election was unconstitutional, still don't see how that invalidates the other 3 elections, but yeah were doing it again.

Pedantry, basically. Some perceive the Constitution as restricting the Curator's actions in this case, others see it healthy that the Curator used her discretion.

Having a new run-off poll for 4th place is fine, but there's no need to re-do everyone's because of this.

Given that an election is being held for HG's retired seat, can we not let the duly elected councilor's carry on with their duties?
    What's the impediment to this?

So mabe I should tag team you AL. I already am missing the process.

Actually you should run again if indeed the original contested 3 seats need to be contested again. I do not think it necessary to void the results, but then in the real world such a rerun is the only means to give clean results once the original results are tainted. I wished that more of our politicians had enough respect for the electorate as I see with our Curator.

Being reachable and open to other opinions is doubtless a good thing. But when something this drastic is to be instituted it should be discussed beforehand to see if anyone feels that course of action is necessary to assuage their complaints. I think what happened here is a problem was noted and what it encompassed was overextended and then acted upon. I have full faith in the Curator which is why I hope she will reconsider this course of action for a more agreeable middle ground, since it is no more set in stone now than the original course was.

And you're right about tainted results, but the key here is nothing about the vote itself was tainted, the only thing anyone took issue with is how the vote data was interpreted to fill an extra seat. The data itself is perfectly valid for the three seats it set out to fill. So a more apt example is someone counted the votes wrong. Everyone doesn't go back to the polls, they just count them over again.
