Lancers Dismounted

Is it possible to let Lancers dismount and use the pike men animations?

Or maybe created a land unit that doesn't have horses as dismounted Lancers?

I tried to dismount lancers.
It caused game crash because they have not animations suitable for dismounted pikemen.
I suppose it may be fixed but not so easy.

Sounds like you forgot to put rank and file space after they dismount.

I'm trying to do this currently because I want a pikeman type unit. I'm using the russian ulan. By making dismount true, his lance disappears when he dismounts. I have gotten rid of his horses. When he attacks there is a CTD caused by the charge animation. This can be changed by changing the value lance from mounted_lance to foot bayonet or mounted sword. Unfortunately he has no lance to hit people with. Has anyone gotten round this?

Are the pikes still in the code from ETW btw?

No, I don't think so - the only possible entry is euro_half_pike and I can't find a texture for it.
