Default [PASSED][Citizen]Aikanár (patron : Louis Lux)

    Patron: Louis Lux
Louis Lux Aikanár is above all a great person and a good friend and you can easily perceive that through his posts, he is respectful and always tries to help others. His main modding contribution is thoroughly researched and attempts something unique in terms of gameplay and player experience. I believe a dedicate member such as him is deserving of the rank of citizen.

    Dear members of the CdeC,

Before 2009 I was lurking TWC for quite some time, mainly because of RTR and FA:TW. When Third Age: Total War was about to be released, I joined the fora a year ago for the sole purpose of participating in its forum. Back then I never thought of participating in other fora of TWC whatsoever. In the beginning it was all about playing and exchanging gameplay experiences with other members. But when Mithrandir announced a request for translations, I thought, why not contribute a little to this mod you enjoy so much? I think it was back then, when the TWC-virus caught me.
Since then I find my joy in contributing to the community the way I find enjoyable, which is modding (coding and scripting), helping other members solving problems and, to some little extend, in debating -actually solemnly in the Third Age fora. While learning to code and script and working on my main project, I fell more and more in love with modding and with it, of course, the amount of time spent playing diminished. After I had to abstain from TWC for some months out of personal reasons, I returned when I was able to do so. Since then I continued working on my project and was invited to join other projects as coder and scripter.
I'd like to acquire the rank of citizen wearing the artifex badge, because I love what I'm doing, scripting and coding, and love to contribute that way to the community.

Released modding contributions so far are:
Middle-earth Lore a submod for TA:TW is the project I started modding with.
The submod aims on improving the feeling of really playing a TW game in Middle-earth on the one hand, to deepen the knowledge of the world where the action takes place on the other hand. To achieve that goal, it adds an immersion-system based upon factions, culture, races, inner-faction noble houses and so forth, which includes (till now) traits, ancillaries, guilds, building(s), unit(s) and events.

For the Forgotten Realms of Middle-earth I've done the whole campaign scripting, the coding of all ancillaries (their pictures and descriptions were done by other people like Eöl or my beloved father in spe Louis) and some bugfixing of the descr_strat.txt

Some issues I tried to solve:

Since I do not debate in the D&D fora, here's an example for debating in the Third Age forum:

Furthermore I started an AAR last year before I fell in love with modding, it's not finished, because modding took the time of playing.

I'm currently working on the following mods in development:The Frontier, The Ruins of Arnor, Divide and Conquer.

What will I do, if you find me worthy of rising in rank?
Basically continuing that, what I've done till today. Working on my skills in modding and try to expand them. Working on my own project as well as helping other mods come to see the light by contributing to them as a coding and scripting developer. Giving fellow members a hand, trying to solve problems they might have and participating in debates, that I might find interesting on the one hand, participating in the curia on the other hand.

I thank you for the time you spent treating with me and my application!

    Kind regards,

    Aikanár

Absolutely yes. This is an excellent contributor who always has a smiley face on, no matter what. His attitude leaves nothing to be desired. He is dedicated to his modding and does almost nothing else on the site- perhaps the archetypal artifex.

The Lore sub-mod has some interesting elements, I believe I bookmarked it at one time to explore some of the features it attested to for implementation. Don't remember what I concluded, though! Either way, the combined work on the two mods, coupled with his generally helpful involvement in community affairs, are noteworthy.
