I stumbled upon this while researching Cataline for a Latin paper, and just had to share it:

    http://www.forumromanum.org/literature/authors_a.html

This site has writings from almost any Roman or Latin author you could think of; from Augustus and Cicero to Suetonius and Virgil. There are literally hundreds of choices here.

Anyone interested in anyone from Roman history should check it out.

One Caveat: a background in Latin is reccommended, as some of the minor works are only partially translated, some not at all. Most major works by the well known authors are translated, however.

Also, don't use the search bar, use the browse buttons at the bottom. They work better.

I found www.bbc.co.uk/history is an excellent introductory history site, with lots of topics covered. It's all well presented with a broad range of audio-visial and interactive content (time-lines, maps, ...). It also contains a growing archive with many stories relating to WW2.
