Bulgarian army from late XIV centry http://www.fanaticus.org/DBA/armieso...ars/index.html
This was a campaign from october-november 1350. when Dušan pushed through Hum towards Cetina river, the report about the campaign is given by Orbini and Luccari and it's corroborated by the diplomatic sources. In October 11 the cities of Trogir and Split decided to send envoys with gifts to Serbian emperor ( imperator Raxie ) when he arrives to Cetina river while one charter of ban Stjepan II from 1351. confirms that Dušan ( car Raški ) conquered his city of Novi on Neretva that year. When the news came about Byzantine attack Serbian army started south, in November 13 he visited Ragusa and then proceded to Macedonia while Bosnians soon recapured the lost territories.I read once something about the march of car Dushan at Bosnia when the bosnian ban Stijepan Kotroman II (correct me if I am wrong) fled towards the mountains together with some of his nobles and he from there organised some kind of "guerilla war". This was written by Mavre Orbini; a historian from Dubrovnik more than 400 years ago. It is, as far as I know, the onlu sourrce which mentions this war.
These are two separate events, Dušan's campaign against Bosnia was in 1350. while sending help to his sister Jelena in Klis and Skradin took place in 1355. just before his death. In second case there are no news about pushing through the Bosnian territory so it's possible that Serbian army came by sea. The wars against Hungary were frequent during Dušan's reign, Carl Robert attacked Serbia in 1335. and Louis I attacked in 1342. and again in 1354.As, far as I know Dusan took a big army far to the west to help his sister as regional nobles ganged up to grab lands from the widow. So, I guess it was not only merc army. As far as I know Bosnian Ban ofered no resistance and hided in capital, so it must be serious army marching through his land. It was kind of good excuse for Dusan to punish Bosnian Ban for grabig Hum from Serbia during Bulgarian/Bysantine offensive on Serbia before battle fo Velbuzd. So, after Dusan heard news that Hungarians have used situation and crosses the Sava river into Serbia, he turned back and defted Hungarians. Somebody know more about that fight? Also, in the same time, some Greek cities in the south have rebeled and changed sides to Bysantenes, so it was kind of critical situation for Dusan, since he was streched up, and in the war with most of his neighbours - as far as I remember he even made contract with Ragusans, to over refugee to his family in the worse case.
Thanks Clandestino
So, Hungarians attacks were quite freqvent...I guess they were nervous because of his rising power in the south, and wanted to stop him. I know in one occasion Dušan have lost Mačva and Hum...so, I guess other times he was able to fend them off?

nice pictures
Really good images Wallachian. The sketches look like they were transcribed from a manuscript or a relief or something. If so do you know where they came from?

The Moldavian archer is from a frescoe in the Moldovita monastery.
The Wallachian warriors are from the famous Vienna chronicle which depicts the bettle. This is the original painting:
Finally, the Moldavian cavalry comes from a graving by Herberstein called "Rerum Moscoviticarum" (Notes on Moscovite Affairs) from 1549.
No worries mate, glad I could help
Bulgarian heavy worrier
He is still bulgarian
All bulgarians where once and by this logic there skills in war and armor are o most the same ( I meen the early medieval bulgarians)
If we were talking about the 8th or maybe even 9th century - ok, maybe. But for the 14th century - most certainly not. And here we're discussing only the 14th century ones.
Otherwise, the guy's equipment does more or less fit the period (certainly after the 13th century), but isn't usable for the Danube Bulgarians.
That what i meen 8-10 centry
