Turning scouts back into assassins?

How would I go about doing this?

Scouts just seem kind of redundant to me considering (from my experience) diplomats can easily do the scout's job and then some.

Well, we're planning to cut the scout unit completely in the next release. Assassins just aren't so appropriate for the heroic age of Greece, when heroes were semi-divine killing machines and almost impossible for ordinary people to take on.
