Yes, it really is great. Playing the game with the mod, myself.
The other recent games of the series also have a massive mod like that available. DEAP!70! for Anno 1701, and ARRC for Anno 2070. Just like IAAM, they keep the spirit of the game, but expand it to a great degree and make it more complex and challenging.

I suppose the IAAM doesnt go together with the Unofficial 1.10 patch from Anno 1404?

IAAM is great but for singleplayer only. I like to play MP games with a friend to compare our cities but there is not enough room to build for two active players with IAAM. I wish there was some kind of full ground map for Anno games instead of islands.

Cities Skylines is not even a city builder. Skylines is a city simulation game and a weak one at that.

CivCity Rome is exciting because it has the story that it motivates you to keep playing it (interesting characters, good voice acting, variety of buildings).Perhaps the English narrator's voice it's kind of annoying when you announce when granary is empty. It is a pleasant combination between Stronghold and Civilization. The military component is terrible and it's best to avoid military missions because battles are horrible. It's nice to see how the city develops, to see how the houses grow, to see how roman families live , how satisfy their needs (food, water, clothes, olive oil, slaves, furniture, entertainment, medicine, hygiene, access to education and culture ).The lines of peoples are funny. Maybe, that game has same bugs, but is fun.

    Caesar IV
is boring, repetitive (every mission have same objectives and you must reconstruct a new city in every mission), mediocre, poorly optimized and buggy. Buildings and workers look like a Lego figurines.Graphics is too bad for a game launched in 2006 (ok, has a spectacular rains, lightning, fire, but nothing changed). Maybe the music is epic, but the game is awful. The narrator's voice seems like a nerd bank clerk tired. Advisors are very grumpy, unfriendly and indifferent even your city works well. As gameplay, the game is unforgiving, but has many technical problems.
    4/10

    Grand Ages: Rome-
enough to play only one mission and that's what would be the game. It's repetitive (with same objectives, but has a variety of maps). Is not consistent, but has a good graphics .
Is not a game, just a eye-candy simulator.
