Cheers gentlemen!
Good luck to the BC 3.0 team, and everything looks fan-freakin'-tastic. Congratulations on your first (pre)Preview!
Woo-hoo! The wait was worth it! Fantastic looking maps (I do so love big maps ), can already tell there is a great attention to detail. In chance of a progress/status report on the mod?
i cant wait for this it looks brillent !
Very nice preview....made with professionalism....as always....in BC stile...
It seems about 3.0 to be a very big patch who bring enormous improvements.
Is more like a new game with the same name.
Good luck guys.I will keep an eye here.
I'm surprised by the sheer number of new factions! Will Fars, Mazandaran, and Kerman have different units?
Hell yeah.. and all these new cool factions. looking forward

Great news!
I wonder - the "principality of knyazhestvo" - is Kievan Rus?
Great News!
I look forward to this.
Does this mean that campaign start date has moved from 1174 to 1184?
Minor correction, the Ghaznavids seem to have swapped places with the Ghorids, with both still labelled as the Ghazni on the map.
Slightly disappointed to see the Anatolia's number of regions drop from approx 31 to 20, but I see how the team wanted to increase the map (the fact that the area has so many regions made the battle for Anatolia seem more realistic in BC1/BC2 as opposed to the vanilla game that had only had 6 regions and many other mods not really increasing that number....). However, will the use of stone forts compensate for this reduction?
Just curious, what was the total number of regions in BC1/BC2?
Also, will Cyrenaica & the center of Arabia still be unreachable?

From 1174ish-1220's Yemen was ruled by the Ayyubids. As much as I love Yemen, it doesn't make sense to see it in this game, atleast not at 1184. If the game starts in 1229 then it would be sensable to say the Resulids are in power with the start of al-Mansur Umar in power. Unless Yemen starts out as a vassal of the Ayyubids, and an event causes them to break from them. That is forseeable. Another pssibility could be the Rassids, who held a small region in the mountains since the middle of the 900's, but they were politically weak and went through phases of not even having an Imam ruler. (Although at the start of the game, I believe they do)

The BC3 will most likely start in 1174y (the same year that BC2 started). We were and are aware that in this year Ayyubids conquered Yemen and this is why we moved Ayyubids boarders as far as to Yemens neighbourhood. We will give strong armies for Ayyubids on the Yemens boarder so it would picture the Ayyubid's preparation to invade Yemen. But we want to give Yemen the chance to defend themselves as well
AWSOME EPIC news for me keep on moding guys. We are waiting ss, models and preview

As Silesian said, the mod starts in 1174 (spring).
This is from Wikipedia article (sorry, I don't have access to anything more reliable right now):
As you see, Yemen wasn't conquered untill 1175. And as Silesian said, there's nothing wrong in implementing Yemen as extremely difficult faction to play with - because from the very first turn you will have to deal with invading armies of the Ayyubids.Conquest of Arabia
In 1173, Saladin sent Turan-Shah to conquer Yemen and the Hejaz. Muslim writers Ibn al-Athir and later al-Maqrizi wrote that the reasoning behind the conquest of Yemen was an Ayyubid fear, that should Egypt fall to Nur al-Din, they could seek refuge in a faraway territory. In May 1174, Turan-Shah first conquered Zabid from a Kharijite dynasty and executed its leader Mahdi Abd al-Nabi and later that year Aden was taken from the Shia Banu Karam tribe.[15] Aden became the principal maritime port of the dynasty in the Indian Ocean and the principal city of Yemen. The advent of the Ayyubids marked the beginning of a period of renewed prosperity in the city which saw the improvement of its commercial infrastructure, the establishment of new institutions, and the minting of its own coins.[16]
Turan-Shah drove out the Hamdanid rulers of Sana'a, conquering the mountainous city in 1175.[15] With the conquest of Yemen, the Ayyubids developed a coastal fleet, al-asakir al-bahriyya, which they used to guard the sea coasts under their control and protect them from pirate raids.[17] The conquest held great significance for Yemen because the Ayyubids managed to unite the previous three independent states (Zabid, Aden, and Sana'a) under their rule. However, when Turan-Shah was transferred from his governor post in Yemen in 1176, uprisings broke out in the territory and were not quelled until 1182 when Saladin assigned his other brother Tughtekin Sayf al-Islam as governor of Yemen.[15]
From Yemen, as from Egypt, the Ayyubids aimed to dominate the Red Sea trade routes which Egypt depended on and so sought to tighten their grip on the Hejaz, where an important trade stop, Yanbu, was located.[18] To favor trade in the direction of the Red Sea, the Ayyubids built facilities along the Red Sea-Indian Ocean trade routes to accompany merchants.[19] The Ayyubids also aspired to back their claims of legitimacy within the Caliphate by holding sovereignty over Mecca and Medina.[18] The conquests and economic advancements undertaken by Saladin effectively established Egypt's hegemony in the region.[19]
Good luck and keep on developing this excellent mod serie !!! Cheers !!!

Good to see the banners of Broken Crescent will continue to fly, well done guys!
Yes,it is small but it was powerful and very advanced because although of his sizes it lived 300 years, being surrounded with powerful counties, besides it was situated near the see and had very developed trade system with the most powerful countries of the Europe and East.It was situated in two different lands:flat and mounted, which allowed to satisfy all his needs and sell also different things to his neighbors for example much metal to Egypt etc...
As you you see the money was much, the lands were one of the bests for living, trade and defense and the army had took best traditions of ancient Armenia and modern Europe.
So you see that you can add some more cities due to of his power and advanced position with it's small sizes near the powerful invaders.
