    Default Mod Foldered?

Is this mod in it's own separate folder or will it break regular m2tw?

I wish that was true. Is there any way for us to re-enable changing the install path? As when I try to install it it doesn't find it in my steam folder.

I went through the same thing. I have 2 installations of M2TW, a steam version and a disc version. The installer for the mod reads the registry for the latest installation path.
So, you might want to redownload the M2 from steam and then the installer for the mod will work. If it doesn't find an installation path, then it will install in Program Files\My product. From there, you can simply copy the mod to your desired path.

    Hope this helps.

The installer reads the registry on your machine and uses the installation path written there. I will enable it for the next release. You might just want to make up your mind which of your installation to use. This is the path in the registry that will show the path (I like word play too!):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SEGA\Medieval II Total War
Double click AppPath and enter the desired path. Once installed, change it back to what it was.
