    Default Best unit kill/death ratio?

So, what is the best kill/death ratio you have ever had with a single unit.
My best is 603-5, a ratio of over 100-1.

That was with a single unit of Line Infantry in the defense of Gibralter. It's the last unit on screen.

I can't remember the difficulty, I think it might have been Medium.

    So, whats your best?

1000 something to 0 with one of my Hwoitzer batteries, a hell of a lot of militia and a hell of a lot of explosives they are on full xp now...

Shoot coward! You are only going to kill a man!

Wow, and with that ratio they only went up one experience level? I know you said you aren't sure which difficulty you played on, and I'm not sure how the difficulty level factors in with unit XP (if at all), but that seems wrong. I mean on hard difficulty my cavalry usually rank up at least one or two chevrons simply from chasing a few routing units. I know that units generally rank up quickly when they take heavy losses, but it seems like a high k/d ratio should be awarded too.

if they kill a lot without taking many losses they dont seem to gain XP much

i think they need to both kill and be killed

I think you are right about that. One of the 9 pounder artillery units lost 22 and killed 488 and gained 2 chevron's.

Yeah, best is x:0 where x>0... which I have done without arty (enemy without general marches cav/inf army into musket fire and promptly flees), though I've given up taking screens in N:TW (I run it on 7 and prtscrn takes a screenshot of what the desktop would look like if you didn't have it covered in a game).

In my GC's I somehow manage to use Hussars quite effectively. And in geenral they get best rates if you handle them careful enough.

not really a great k/d ratio, but an incredible number of kill (in my opinion) with a unit that started battle with 285 men (first of the list , foot guards). Prussia Ownz Like Ever

I have Win 7 and the same problem, so I just use FRAP's instead

Yeah they do xp up much quicker when they die and kill i just look at it as being a kulling of the weak links in the unit eg the dumb ones die and the smart battle hard ones live thats how i rationilise an effect that i believe has more to do with how many kills they get divided by how many in the unit so they kill 200 and lose no one having 200 in the unit thats a killl per man but they kill 200 and lose 180 so the bounty goes to the surviving 20 men meaning they get stats as if they had killed 10 men each .

AFAIK the overall gained experience is equally distributed to every soldier in the unit, thus the less soldiers you have the more exp. they gain and the more likely they will get a new rank. Also the experience is redistributed with new recruits -> lowering the rank.

I had a unit that gained 7 chevrons in one battle. I had tasked an Austrian militia unit with climbing a heavily defended wall in one of the mercifully few siege battles I had to fight, hoping to draw away the defenders and get my good units on the walls of the fort without trouble. I completely forgot about it... When I came back, my trusty militia unit had killed over 650 units, routed 2 regiments of elite infantry, as well as 2 regiments of armed citizenry. It had (at the end of the battle) 22 units left, and never routed, despite being completely unsupported. It somehow managed to cause all of this carnage exclusively in melee...

Too bad you will lose some when unit replenishes.

You all must be playing with unit size 'ultra' or something? Max army on 'large' unit size is something over 2k men.

Sometimes when facing a full stack of firelock and some militia, my cannons can rack up 600-1000 kills in a single battle
