I haven't had that much good kings. Napoleon portrays them as suckish and tyrannical. I don't think Francis I of Austria would have only 4 stars.

George the Third is rubbish... what other possible monarchs can you get as GB?
Nobody expects the Imperial Inquisition
I got William the IV, hes average, but has the Agarian trait...
Shoot coward! You are only going to kill a man!
Napoleon, of course (okay, he's technically an emporer, not a king, but I think you're really referring to the function of faction leader with this thread).
Yes im referring to Coalition leaders. We all know Napoleon is awesome. But the Coalition leaders tend to suck...
lol George III was a bit bonkers though
The Austrian leader gets negative prestige per turn as well as negative relations bonuses, I think its Francis who has this, the old sickly looking man you have at the start. Yeah I agree the coalition leaders are all pretty mediocre but than again so were most the leaders in empire as I can recall.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.

Ministers are mediocre as well. All of my candidates are 3 stars with no traits. Once in a while I will get a 4 star and with a +1 to management. Which is rare! Back then a lot of people were well educated and good for positions in government.

Ya. After the American Revolution he went coo koo. Such a shame he was such a good king too.
All my kings sucked or were below average.
King george III was beyond horrible. 2 Stars 0_0
George III had porphyria although that wasn't diagnosed at the time. He died in my game and William IV is king. CA got it wrong anyway because GeorgeIII was often insane at this time and his son George IV (Prince Regent) was really the ruler and was king in 1820-30,then William IV before Victoria.

The era was more focused on generals than kings. Towards the end of the game, the general with the starting army will usually have full command. Other than that, does anyone know how to make their monarch increase in capability? How about if the goverment keeps on gaining popularity then the ministers and the monarch should get increased skills.
I reckon you need to build a lot of the same type of building and such, like build a hell of a lot of farms and you get the Agarian trait...
