    Default AI missions

Does the AI ever receive special missions? ie (take settlement, blockade port, etc.)

Would it be possible to mod the game so the player could pay money/give a settlement to another faction in exchange for that faction attacking a specific city of another faction. Or assign some other type of special mission?

I'm wondering if it possible to do this in either in vanilla or XCAI.

I believe not - my own experience has shown that they only use something to join crusades, yet I've only made a little bit into it.

As a work around, I gave the AI a special bonus via a script which randomly granted money, or units, for completing specific tasks instead, but that bypasses the whole route of CAI coding.

I.e, taking a Slave owned town = 1000 gold/4x Random Units, Slave owned Castle = 2500 Gold/4x High Experience Random Units, Assassinating Faction Leader = 5000 gold, Capturing Merchants Assets = More Gold etc.

If any of this information is incorrect, or there is an easier way, I'd gladly like to know.

There are no special missions, for the AI as there are for the AI.

However, within the XCAI, essentially the same thing is accomplished through bonuses for diplomacy. Plus there is random generators too.

xeryx, could you mod the diplomacy screen so that giving out missions to other factions could be an extra diplomacy option? or is this something that is hard coded and not possible?

good luck with the testing, i think after 4.0 is released you should seriously consider applying for a job at CA, last time i checked their website had a job posting for an ai programmer

    Thanks Dknight.

No there are many things that can't be changed. We cannot really add features to the came, only work within the existing framework.

I highly doubt they want me or our team to work for them, I have been an outspoken critic of them for a long time. Since Me2 was released. Besides the changes we do here make sense, they wouldn't want any of that in their code. LOL

I don't know how this guy did this but he somehow made it possible to request rebels and other factions to attack specific city

The only downside is that it occurs on a square map with no rivers, seas, or any big mountains. Perhaps it's a pathfinding issue?
