This can be found as dvdrips on the net as well, makes it easier to watch.
Does anyone know of similar movies from this period?
From this period? Not really. There's Prince Valiant - a story about an apparently Viking prince at King Arthur's court with lots of horned helmets. Later there's an Alfred the Great movie that's hard to find and not available on DVD yet. Then you have to look later (13th Warrior) and/or in foreign languages.
The Vikings is still the best viking movie, 50 years later.
I get that all videos do not work and have been removed due to use violation
I have seen this film many times. It used to be on TV on the occasional Saturday afternoon when I was much younger. Kirk Douglas plays a real bastard (in the figurative sense). Ernest Borgnign (sp) makes a suprisingly good viking leader, particularly in the scene where he leaps into a pit of vicious dogs (and his death).
