By the way, I have permission to use any RSII units in FO Of course, my policy here is to only use the great RSII unit if there isn't a great RTR 7/VII unit to fill its role, but I think the mod just got a lot better

    It's the Bactrian elite phalanx

It's a good thing I have been practicing my skinning skills, btw. It has saved a lot of model slots in Greece. For instance, for some reason, there were at least three, maybe more, peltast models, and at least five (factional) phalangite ones. Needless to say, this changed (there is one peltast and two phalangites now). I rather like the VII Greek units, so I've been putting those in and making extra ones for the factions not in VII. So now I have a ton of free slots, which I can use to make sure no part of the map is overlooked

The original RTR missed a trick with the Bactrians.

The Bactrians have the potential to be one of the most interesting and fun factions to play as but RTR didn't do them justice in the slightest.

I know exactly what you mean and I've high hopes about how the bactrian roster is turning out in FO.
of course, one specimen can be seen in my sig.

Oh yeah, I agree with you there. I mean, the Bactrians are fun in RTR 6, and their roster is decent, but the level of effort expended in the East in general seems to be lacking - the geography is almost unrecognisable if you look at reality, the Indians and Sakas aren't a threat, and there are only four AoR units in all of Persia, with four more for the mountainous areas (Armenia and Asia Minor, iirc, but I don't recall exactly). I don't actually see why RTR 6 added Persia when they were going to make it so obvious that it was only there to get people to come and they didn't really want to do it. I mean, you have to want to do the stuff that are modding.

Of course, you can expect Bactria to be one of the hardest factions to play in FO. At least, that's my expectation.

During the half-term holidays last week, I added a lot of units. I don't have an exact count on it, but I think it was probably between 30 and 50. So I'm certainly on course for a release after VII - in fact, I'm a little worried I'll have to wait for VII to be released for the first version

Most of those units added were in the East, for example, I added 6 local units in Egypt and Kush, and several throughout Persia (Persian Archers, Syrian Archers, Cappadocian Cavalry, Parthian and Persian Horse Archers, Persian Sparabara, Parthian Cataphract Bodyguard, to name a few). Most of these are from RSII, with a few from AqD's mod; however, quite a lot of them have been edited by me.

How are you doing with the sprites? I might be able to get it to work properly this week when I give SVN another try, so if you still need them doing I'll get them done for you.

CC is away for a while. unless this is a recent problem most sprites are done. I churned them out and CC coded them in.

That sounds very good. There are some very nice eastern units in both of the mods (RSII and AqDs)

Yeah, they are indeed very fine. In the meantime, other parts are also being prepared, such as the faction symbols and the unit cards, thanks to NightEye, who is doing a great job on them:

That is, of course, their custom battle roster (the regional troops they couldn't have accessed, such as Iberians, are excluded from it, but obviously not from the campaign). The available regional units will of course change in future as more Persian units are added. Note that the three Persian units are RSII, the rest are our creations
