Some corrections to the Greek names.
    Basileion ton Makedonon
for Bactria is Basileion tis Bactrianis
for Pontos is Basileion tou Pontou
and Autonomai Hellenikes Poleis or Autonomai poleis Hellenon
also I 'be never heard about "Arche"
I 'm more familiar with Basileion ton Seleukidon and Basileion ton Ptolemaion
and Pergamos should be basileion tis Pergamou

_I would prefer the Sarmatians instead of Belgae.

_Also why should you waste a faction slot for steppe tribes and not give them to the barbarian superfaction?

_ We could have a playable faction Sakai to make that region more interesting. If it wasn't that hard I would make them horde as well..

Anyway keep on the good work!!

Arche is definitely "Empire" or domination or something like that. For instance, it is to be found in modern words, such as "Patriarch". May I ask you for your sources? Are are you a fluent Greek?

I believe that Gaul needs at least two factions, and the Belgae provides the most flexibility for the second one, since I can mix it with the Germans. The Steppe Tribes hold almost the entire Steppe at the moment, though I think I might make the Sakai part of the Barbarian Superfaction and the Sarmatians as an independant faction. I unfortunately ran out of factions, or I would have had quite a few more...

Well done, CC! I'm really eager to see if you'll manage to get this done with all of your other projects!

EDIT: fluent Greek is nice, but I propose that you need ancient Greek and then in the much used Athenian tongue? I can look at these at school if you wish me to.

I've studied ancient Greek and those names aren't different in modern Greek.

Arche means beginning and also could mean power like Archegos meaning leader. The Selecuids and Ptolemies are usualy mentioned by ancient Greeks as kingdoms ( Basileion ton Seleukidon for example )

Also Achaian League would be better as Achaiki Symmaxia which means Achaian Alliance.

Thanks, I'll check those things. Koinon ton Achaion is the name generally used by mods - in fact, RTR VII has it in its Beta, but I'll ask around.

Δυναστεία = Dynasty is reffered to the family tree rather than to the kingdom itself. I wouln't suggest that.

RTR uses "Dynastai" for all the Successor factions, but there aren't actually any Greeks on the current team, so we are seeking confirmation for the Greek names from a former member. But thanks you two

How does Ancient Greek differ from modern Greek?

Dynastai is plural meaning Dynasties while Dynasteia is Dynasty. Still I wouldn't recommend them as I said above.

At the moment, I am making the government trees. Here's the progress:

    -Rome - done
    -Carthage - done
-Seleucids - done (needs units in future)
-Ptolemies - done (needs units in future)
    -Macedon - done
    -Pergamon - done
-Achaian League - done, but needs some changing
-Bactria - done (needs units in future)
-Mauryans - done (for now. Needs units)
-Parthia - done (needs units in future)
-Pontos - done (needs units in future)
-Armenia - done (needs units badly in future)
    -Celtiberi - not done
    -Arverni - not done
    -Belgae - not done
    -Cherusci - not done
    -Getai - not done
-Steppe Tribes - not done (might need units in future)
    -Barbarian Minifaction* - not done
    -Greek Minifaction* - done
    -Rebels - not needed

*The Minifactions will have simplified systems, which will not take up any more trees (at least, the Greeks don't. The Barbs may).

Those where I haven't put that they don't need units still will... but they will have units from VII, so I know where they will come from

I would argue against the suggested title for Parthia. "(Arche Arsakides)=Arche or Basileion ton Arsakidon(Βασίλειον τῶν Ἀρσακιδῶν)" is in Greek language but the Parthians spoke the Iranian!
    So Pahlavanigh (اشکانیان).

I couldn't think of anything else - I don't speak Old Iranian And since (some of) the Parthians were known as "philhellenes" ("friends of the Greeks"), I thought a Greek name would be ok for now. But now that I have a proper name for them, I'll use it

I've been making faction location pics. Thanks to Pat, I now know how to make good ones :

It's a bit small, but making it bigger makes it fill up too much space on the selection screen. Anyway, as you can see, I have made a new part of the barbarian minfaction: The Alans. These split the Sarmatae and the Sakae so they can be properly treated as independant factions. I also decided each of the barbarian factions need two regions to make them properly active and spice up Gaul, Iberia and Germania.
