Liberate all of the protectorates to their immediate east (switzerland etc and liberate belgium), the result is an instant barrier between them and your allies that they won't break because they like them too much.
This game is too easy. Since every land battle can be won with minimal casualties, one fullstack is enough to secure a whole frontier
Which is bad.. Honestly, I need darthmod or something. I really do.
A good tip though: Liberate northern france ( brittany ) and give them another region from the french. Liberate Belgium, and give them two regions close by ( you can demand surrender from the french regions if you have 7/10th of a stack and they don't have a garrison ). Now you have 2 protectorates that will be able to fend of france. Then /roflcopter the game, faceroll keyboard. You'll win.
One’s back is vulnerable, unless one has a brother.
Ber er hver að baki nema sér bróður eigi.
The Saga of Grettir the Strong, chapter 82
Well, I think France is supposed to be aggressive, in order to emulate Napoleon's historical timeline as close as possible. Imagine an uninterested Napoleonic France refusing to expand beyond its borders!
На Запад масивно сиви облаци
Од Исток сонце и вистина излези
Macedonia
Do you want Napoleon and your allies' leaders to stand around a campfire holding hands and singing Kumbaya?
Don't blame me, I voted for Pedro!
Go back to Empire my friend.
Evan
France isnt aggressive for me playing britain what difficulty are you playing?
Im on normal and by diplomacy and a few attacks france is contained.
Same for me playing the Brittish. Austria totally stopped France and pushed them right back. Actually Austria is the most powerful nation in my campaign taking out the Ottoman's and holding back France at the same time.
I have the opposite problem. I find myself leaving France alone because I want it to get out of control but sadly this is yet to happen for me. Im yet to see Napoleon even defeat Austria.
Forget the Cod this man needs a Sturgeon!
Turn the difficulty down?
you could mod France starting armies, treasury etc. or you could liberate protectorates to fight for you or create a buffer and of course you could send in troops to defend your allies
To summarise
Normal difficulty - not aggressive enough
Hard - about right
Very hard - too aggressive
So should a few changes be made in the difficulty gradation? So: for normal difficulty the coalition should have a tough fight but succeed by the end date. Hard should be a challenge requiring unity by the coalotion and strong strategy. Finally very hard should be challenging in all aspects but not impossible, just a very very close run thing. What do you think of this?
stick campaign AI on VH. Then you will see france laying sieged to London
Well the thing about setting the AI difficulty to very hard is that it benefits every AI player. I normally play on VH campaign AI and H battle. In my game playing as Prussia, Austria has managed to destroy the Kingdom of Italy and, together with me, we have pushed France back to its original borders. I then proceeded to backstab Austria and ally with France, having put some satellite states along our border (Belgium, Wurtemburg etc.).
Nah, I find that protectorates only survive for a couple of turns until France brings over enough manpower to take it down. If you want a more permanent solution is to give any region you take from France to one of its allies. For example in my game France was allied with Spain and Swiss Confederation. I just kept on taking over, looting, and then giving it to one of those guys so France can't take their territory back. This really cut down on their army production capabilities. XD
