Turn Enemys into Tradepartners?

I'm playing as papal states and i'm at war with everyone lol. Whats the best way to turn there frown's upside down. I like building a strong economy first any advice would rock!

Wait till you have lots of cash. Make sure you have sufficient land armies to protect your fledgling state (especially from Napoleon). Focus on building up a fleet of trade ships and battle ships to accompany them then try and gain control of as many trade nodes close to Italy as possible. These generate loads of cash per turn once you stack them full of trade ships. When you have lots of cash, you can buy a peace treaty and buy trade agreements.

Don't expect alot of them to last though.

yea especially with The Major powers once you get them make sure you expand killing the smaller factions in Italy Quick. also if you can you may be able to sneak of an army to Vienna or Paris and loot that then Run before Napoleon comes but you should make alot of money from looting those
