This mod is for personal use only, and no elements of it may be incorporated into a public mod without the permission of Modred (in the only cases of the Alaudae Team members as authors) or the permission of the specific authors (in the ALL other cases) - please, see the credits section -
This mod is the effort of many Italian modders, including me, who over the years dedicated a lot of their time in the realization of this work.

- INSTALLATION
• Have a clean copy of Rome Total War v.1.5
• Install Rome Casus Belli 1.8.0 Gold
• Install RCB GOLD 1.9.2 Patch
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
- OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnvHC-cPlYQJjESL...0n25Z?e=0jCo8O
NB
Once opened the downloaded file from Depositfiles.com, choose an installation directory. Inside the extracted content, you will find a file called "CASVS BELLI": if you want, you can move it to your desktop and run the game. Otherwise, you must create a desktop shortcut from the RCB.bat file. You can find it in the Casus Belli installation folder.
Have the 7-Zip program to open the downloaded file.
RCB PATCH 1.9.2
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
- OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnvHC-cPlYQJjEPA...QxQmx?e=9bCP4P
NB
As said above, open the file with the 7-Zip program, and choose the directory where will be installed Casus Belli.

NEW FEATURES FOR CASUS BELLI
========================================================================================
1) A new provincial campaign, called "Trophaeum 551 AVC", begins in 202 BC and ends in 180 AD (death of emperor Marcus Aurelius).
The map is based on the RS II basic campagin map, but there are a lot of custom improvements.
2) The 4 turn per year script is removed; the "Rome Casus Belli" campaign period is extended to 211 AD (death of emperor Septimius Severus).
3) You can read the other features descriptions in Data\ Extras folder: PATCH 1.8.5 - Leggimi.txt; PATCH 1.9.0 - Leggimi.txt; PATCH 1.9.1 - Leggimi.txt and PATCH 1.9.2 - Leggimi.txt files.
P.S.
For the old Rome Casus Belli Classic Game version, Modred allowed (as default option) the editing of the owned settlement names in the campaign map (the name above in the settlement scroll).
To disable this option, open the preferences.txt file in the Casus Belli installation folder: change EDIT_SETTLEMENT_NAMES: TRUE to EDIT_SETTLEMENT_NAMES:FALSE
If you are a Windows 7 or Vista user and you want to edit the preferences.txt file, see the number 3a. in the section below.

ADVISES
========================================================================================
The mod overwrites the vanilla Rome total war, but you can have two installed copies of the original game:
How to install two copies of RTW :
1. Normally install Rome Total War (1.5), then create a new directory (for example: Program Files \ Activision \ Casus Belli). Copy the RTW first installation in this new directory, then install Casus Belli here.
1a. Run the game (visit the www.ghisler.com website for “Total Commander”, the excellent file manager for these operations).
1b. Check the game options to adapt the game to your PC. The graphic ad the audio settings were changed.
2. Before installing Casus Belli, you can delete the Data \ Vegetation sub-folder for a better vegetation in game; however, the trees in the distance will be cut, you can avoid this bug by keeping the "Vegetation" folder.
3. I modified the battle interface: to increase the movement speed, press CTRL + T. If you want to reset the default interface, go to the mod installation folder, search for preferences \ preferences.txt and change MINIMAL_UI:TRUE to MINIMAL_UI:FALSE
3a. If you have the Windows Vista or Windows 7 os:
- go to the "Control Panel", then choose "Folder Options": in the "View tab" section, choose "show hidden files and folders".
- go to (c) Users \ user name \ AppData \ Local \ VirtualStore \ Program Files \ Activision \ Rome total war (or a Casus Belli installation folder)
- you'll find a folder called "preferences" which contains the file preferences.txt: change MINIMAL_UI:TRUE to MINIMAL_UI:FALSE
========================================================================================
INSTRUCTIONS
========================================================================================
If you installed Casus Belli in the same folder than RTW vanilla - for example: Program Files \ Activision \ Rome total war - for a proper functioning of the mod it is strictly recommended to delete the Data\ alexander sub-folder (if exist).
IMPORTANT!!
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, modify “RomeTW-BI.exe”, or “rometw-alx.exe”, or the “RomeTW.exe” file:
- Right button, then click on “Property”.
- Click on “Compatibility”.
- Choose the Windows XP (Service pack 3) compatibility mode, then save.
- Click for running the program as Administrator.
- Save - clicking on "Apply" - and close the file.
If you have Windows 10, to play Rome total war and Casus Belli you should edit the preferences.txt file: change AA_QUALITY:AA_LOW to AA_QUALITY:AA_off
========================================================================================
PLAYNG ROME CASUS BELLI GOLD WITH RTW:BARBARIAN INVASION (V.1.6)
========================================================================================
If you have Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion (1.6), you must have the “RomeTW-BI.exe” file in Program Files \ Activision \ Rome total war. If Casus Belli has a different installation directory, copy the “RomeTW-BI.exe” file into the mod installation folder (ex. Program Files \ Activision \ Casus Belli).
In the Casus Belli installation folder:
- right button on the RCB.bat file, then click on “edit".
Delete this:
RomeTW.exe -nm -show_err -enable_editor -movie_cam
- and write :
RomeTW-BI.exe -nm -show_err -enable_editor -movie_cam
- save and close the file.
========================================================================================
PLAYNG WITH RTW:ALEXANDER (V.1.9)
========================================================================================
If you have Rome Total War Alexander (1.9), you must have the “rometw-alx.exe” file in Program Files \ Activision \ Rome total war. If Casus Belli has a different installation directory, copy the “rometw-alx.exe” file in the mod installation folder (ex. Program Files \ Activision \ Casus Belli).
In the Casus Belli installation folder:
- right button on the RCB.bat file, then click on “edit".
Delete this:
RomeTW.exe -nm -show_err -enable_editor -movie_cam
- and write:
rometw-alx.exe -nm -show_err -enable_editor -movie_cam -noalexander
- save and close the file.
========================================================
SCRIPTS ACTIVATION
========================================================
At the beginning of a new campaign, the advisor will appear automatically in the top left.
Click on the “show me” button to enable the scripts.
After loading a saved campaign, the advisor will not appear automatically: you can activate the scripts in some different ways:
1) Clicking on an owned settlement on the strategic map.
2) Clicking on the faction button
3) Clicking on the construction panel
4) Clicking on the recruitment panel.
The advisor will appear automatically in the top left.
Click on the “show me” button and the scripts will work.
Altough clicking on the “show me” button, the script will not work. You will notice that in your settlements's buildings card will not appear the "Riforma Manipolare” building - in no Roman factions it will have a black legionnaire image as icon -
So, to enable the script, quit the game and run it again, then restart the campaign. At the beginning of the first turn, click on the "show me" button and the script will work.
