This sounds sweet! Just the thing I've been waiting for I'll download and test right away, see if it does it for me. I thought the battles in NTW was a little meager when I've been spoiled with DarthMod in ETW. And I didn't want to increase the unit sizes myself in the preferences.script since there was no apparent way to scale-up the artillery along with it.

EDIT: Although I think the NTW maps are a tad too small for so many units, but maybe it's a small price to pay ^^ at least I think the ETW maps feels bigger and more suitable for such large units.

So is this file a MM pack... i do not use MM untill one come out that was like Empire... is it possible to upload a patch pack as well as alot of people do not use the MM... it seems a very interesting mod.

tried your mod but i have no sound whenever i use your mod, did you do anything with any kind of sound files?
i made sure to remove all other mods and i tested again and its definitely your mod, if i dont use the user.script with ONLY your mod, sound plays fine, but if i use the script file then i get no sound at all, only the beginning movie plays sound......anyone else run into this?
Is it possible to be able to activate the grenades for this mod??? And to add the fire for rows????

I dont know if it has anything to do with this mod, but when I installed it the terrain started behaving weird :S when I uninstalled it it went back to normal again. It seemed like the terrain was raised whenever the camera went far away enough, and when you scroll the camera back... the terrain lowers back to normal again. Almost looks like waves. Hmph. Probably just some weird graphics glitch, but I thought you should know. Didn't notice this at first, but now I did.

The mod is great, but I dont think that is historical that the line infantry shoot like skirmishers. Can you implement the fire by rank ability? For example you can make something like that - when the fire and advance tech is researched all your elite units and grenadiers recieve the fire by rank tech (just like Radious did in his mod).

It is not. Historically speaking, only the first two ranks would fire simultaneously, essentially the first two ranks of infantry formations would just blaze away, but they would not fire by rank, and would kneel. Here is a link to source.
Also, Fire by Rank comes with its own problems, namely having to wait for the entire formation to be formed up before they fire, and have to wait for the entire formation to reload before they fire, that was one of my big complaints about empire, and it really hurt the AI. Also, that is simply not historical as the formations at the time would just blaze away at each other.
So having all the ranks fire is sort of a 'compromise,' it all just 'looks' better than just having the whole formation stand there while the other guys do nothing and it allows the formations to fire before they are all formed up and reloaded.

Thank you for the answer but I have another concern about that fire drill. My computer is pretty powerful and I have always played on ultra settings with AA and AF on ultra (even with units multiplayer x2). And when I tried your mod with a custom battle of almost only line infantry (about 13 000 man) it was ok and the fps were perfect. But when they started firing at each other I cant call it exactly low fps because the camera movement was fine, but there is some kind of lag of the units movements and of the bullets tracers. If you have some time you could try custom battle similar to that I tried, because I think the problem is from the skirmish firing drill.
PS I know that you are making this mod for your own use and you are just sharing your work with us, but it is the best mod that has came out for the moment and the only thing I am concerned about is this lag during the fire

Hmm, one suggestion, have you tried lowering particles from ultra to high?
Regardless, I will take your suggestion into consideration and try testing other methods, but I want to keep the battles as visceral as possible, and having only one rank fire is not that visceral.
Nevertheless, you make a very valid point, and if you're having trouble I am sure others are as well, so I will began testing other means today, and if I find a way to keep the battles harsh without the possibility for lag, I will do so.

I did not touch the sound files, frankly I don't know how to touch the sound files, but I will look into this. Do you play with any sound mods? After disabling sound mods your sound settings may have reversed to something not compatible with your system. Please check your settings 'after' disabling whatever sound mods you were playing with. Is anyone else having this problem?
I will upload a version as a patch. No problem.

I am glad to be able to help you as much as I could I have some sort of suggestion. You can make that skirmish firing drill (lets call it platoon firing) only for the elite units and grenadiers. That way less of the units will use it and so there won't be any lag.

i will have to give this mod a try. any chance on creating a light version with the smaller amount of troops? my home PC will run it fine but my work laptop might struggle hehe. either way I will give it a go as your combat and campaign changes sounds great!!!
