Technically its the same like in Empire, but in this moment we have the problem with the wrong textures and the placeholder icons on the Unitcards, even if you just add a unit to another nation than you get the same problem.

iam asking that cause i have tried to add a unit but i have seen that for eg all the french units are using one texture file as for the model files i havent even figured it out yet, all the model names in unist stats land are "euroline" what the heck all the units in the game are using a single file for their model?

in the uniforms table it seems one entry is directing the unit to the model and the other to a texture... I think which texture is called what and goes where etc will all be defined in the atlas files... does anyone know how to open/edit the atlas files? perhaps then we could create our own atlas files and create new units...

Probably so they can make various factions unit's share the same uniform parts without creating a new file for each one...

Modding NTW is basically the same as ETW so the majority of tutorials and resource are still in the ETW modding workshop

There is a tutorial on new unit creation sticked at the top of that forum, you will just need to use the lastest Pack file manager (PFM) located on this forum.

Probably it has something to do with the promised "Unit Editor".

    Yes that's an interesting thought.

Here some information that I posted on my AUM-NAP thread.

INVESTIGATIONS while I added some land units to other factions:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

NAPOLEON:TW doesn't have a scroll bar in the recruitment queue. The language file system is the same as in ETW. Therefore we have the same problems as in ETW which are described here:

UNIT LIMIT IN THE UI RECRUITMENT QUEUE

Unit Pack Compatibility Project (UPC) English + German

It is possible to unlock vanilla units for other factions. These units have their own stats and fully work in game.

The big problem is the wrong graphical appearance. They don't appear with their appropriate icon, info card picture and texture in game. All units use the "placeholder" icon and info card. They show up with a generic vanilla texture. There seems to be an extensive change in the texture system compared to ETW.

Here some pictures to show you what I mean:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Britain unit roster wrong icon

    added units to Britain:
Grenadiers, Grenadier Guards, Cuirassiers, Carabiniers, Sharpshooters

    Austria unit roster wrong icon

    added units to Austria:
    Grenadier Guards, Cuirassiers, Carabiniers, Sharpshooters

    Prussian Line Infantry wrong icon

British Grenadiers wrong icon and texture

Prussian Grenadier Guards wrong icon and texture

Spanish Grenadier Guards wrong icon and texture

Russian Line Infantry wrong icon and texture

I dont have Napoleon yet, so I speak from my E:TWexperience.

The data defining the area of the texture map that is used on certain models was, in Empire, contained in the model file. Ive seen a few of N:TW's texture maps, and it looks like you cant really do much about it until someone makes a model converter.

My problem is as i have said that 1rstly i cannot locate the correct model file for a specific unit as i did for etw war from the model line in unit stats land table, and that i havent figured out even how to add a new unit cause all the units of one faction are using the same texture file and of course i dont know what is the path that is used to define what part of the texture is being used for a specific unit, i tried to find for eg to find what was the model and the texture part for the 18th french line regiment but i couldnt as i have done for the death hussars in empire for eg, iam a bit confused to be honest and i really dont see the similarities between ETW and NTW
As i have said in the model category in units stats land table ALL THE MODELS are units are using the "Euroline" model how is that possible , iam i using a wrong pack file? I have searched the Data pack file, and a final question, will this unit editor be available for unit creation for the single player in grand campaings also cause i have heard something about multiplayer ?

In order we can't add units, just buy DLC packs when they release. Sega money powaaaaa !
Try the Napoleonic Mod for ETW

All the parts of each unit are made of seperate mesh files. Each of the mesh files has it's own texture assigned to it. There is no need for a converter unless you actually want to edit the meshes themselves.
