    ADDITIONAL UNITS MOD - NAPOLEON (AUM-NAP) 2.2

    AUM-NAP adds 48 units + 3 ships + 25 naval crew Marines to Napoleon:TW

    There are other 8 units and several ships from vanilla standard NTW which can now be recruited by other factions too.


    AUM-NAP is playable in single and multiplayer.

    Below are all AUM units listed with their region and unit limit. Unfortunately the vanilla NAP:TW doesn't have many regions to assign
    to the units. There is neither a "France" nor a "England" region in the grand campaign.

    I assigned the "horses" region to several units to make them only recruitable in the capital/major provinces. These changes should work with all other released mods.

    Another benefit of this change is that the "unit recruitment queue" isn't so full in each province.

    Installation

    AUM-NAP is playable in singleplayer and multiplayer.

    1. Download aum_nap_mod.pack and choose one UPC language file. Please read the UPC section below.

    It is important that you only use one language file at the same time.

    Be sure that no other language packs from other mods are loaded.

    The language file doesn't need to be activated with the Mod Manager or added to the user script. It is in a patch format which loads automatically.

    2. Unzip the files using 7zip.

    3. Copy the aum_nap_mod.pack and the UPC to your NAP data directory:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\napoleon total war\data

    4. create the user.script.txt in this directory:

    XP > C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts

    VISTA / WIN 7 > C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts

    Add this line:
    mod "aum_nap_mod.pack";

    Whenever updating/saving the user.script.txt make sure that the file is not being saved in ANSI format. It should be saved in Unicode format or else NTW will not read the script.

    There is an example script file in the mod included which you can use.

    De-installation

    Just delete the aum_nap_mod.pack in your NAP data directory and remove the AUM entry in your script file.

    I assigned the "horses" region to several units to make them only recruitable in the capital/major provinces. These changes should work with all other
    released mods. Another benefit of this change is that the "unit recruitment queue" isn't so full in each province.

    At the moment it isn't so easy to integrate completely new textures to specific units like it was the case in ETW where each unit had just three .dds files. But it is now possible to switch/change unit parts and create new units in this way.

    NAPOLEON:TW doesn't have a scroll bar in the recruitment queue. The language file system is the same as in ETW. Therefore we have the same problems as in ETW which are described here:

    There is a "sound issue with wrong unit speeches" if you click on an unit. This problem is there since ETW and unfortunately there is no solution and all unit pack mods have this problem.

    You have to install an UPC language file into your NTW data directory. Please be sure that only one language file is loaded at the same time in your directory. Please delete all older UPC or other language files from other mods that are in there.

    What does having that Ship do? Don't countries already have a trade ship?

    All factions can build the normal "Merchantman" ship in vanilla. But the "Indiaman" is restricted to Britain, France and the United Provinces in vanilla.

    I made Switzerland playable for me. But I saw, that they only have line infantry, milita, cheveauleger, 6-lb foot artillery, 6-lb horse artillery and dragoons. Could you make some other units playable for switzerland? For instance guard, light infantry etc.

    This would be really nice.

    I do have a question thought, i was wondering if it would be possible to make the dhow (arab merchant ship) recruitable for the ottomans, because currently they can´t recruit anything on their trading ports. I think it is a bug but still i would love to see it fixed if it is possible, thanks in advance.

    Hello Zorphon, you can read the detailed descriptions and stats in the game itself. Just open a trade port and right-click on the ships.

    Hello swiss_warrior, yes the swiss_confederation doesn't have access to much units.

    Unfortunately there is a problem with the appearing textures of all units that are unlocked for other factions than in vanilla. The problem is described above in my first post.

    Hello Bucefalo, thanks for your comment. I added now two merchant ships to them.


    Hello to all AUM-NAP fans,

    I released the 0.2 beta today.

    - adds the "trade_ship_merchantmen" and "trade_ship_dhow" to the Ottomans which didn't have access to merchant ships at all in the campaign.

    Hello demowhc, yes it is possible to unlock vanilla units for other factions. These units have their own stats and fully work in game.

    The big problem is the wrong graphical appearance. They don't appear with their appropriate icon, info card picture and texture in game. All units use the "placeholder" icon and info card. They show up with a generic vanilla texture. The important "unit_stats_land" table isn't accessible and therefore we can't switch the models of the units.

    There seems to be an extensive change in the texture system compared to ETW.
