Combat does seem to look better in TOR than in other MMO's.

Though it still looks pretty terrible, and most of the various combat effects in WoW seem to be much better and cooler.

I wont play this for many reasons.
1. Graphics look very cartoonish and outdated.
2. None of the classes would suit me. I don't wanna be a jedi or sith. I wanna be a starfighter pilot.
3. Its gotta a monthly fee.
4. There will be many annoying 13 year old kids, who are just begging to get flamed.
5. Lots of non-canon stuff which doesn't make any sense at all, and is losing teh star wars feeling.
That is my humble opinion.

But for the list you made and some points you made i take it you never play the KOTOrs before?

Graphics they are just fine for me its the sort of thing that doesnt bother me much on this kind of games.
Monthy fee or not you only spend it how much you want and when you want regarding this there isnt even price sets, i dont like that ideia of paying for a game, but for this one im willing.
I dont know about the kids i realy dont, i cant see the future. But i normaly have a policy regarding this issues. ignore buton?! or simple ignore other players. I dont get why people have so much issue with the chat. Its internet chat what you expect!?


About the feeling of the star wars, i dont have that feeling yet, as far i seen it realy reminds Kotor 1 and 2 a litle. Wich by it self are a bit difrent from the Movies Lore, Gladly. But i always prefer the Old republic lore than from the movies. The story of Exar kun and Ulic quel Droma, Nomi sunrider, and then Darth Revan ( Kotor) and the exile (Kotor 2) And before the story of the jedi split and the original sith empire of korriban and the great hyperspace war, and the Naga Sadow exile.

Also you dont neeed to be a Jedi or a sith, there is smuglers classes, there is bounty hunter classes, there is imperial agent classes, Repuclic trooper. And every class it seems to have a starship, so you can get the starfighter pilot feeling. As well travel beteween planets just like in kotor 1 and 2.

If Lucas says it's canon, then it is. Can't argue on that one.

You can still own a fighter in the game and there is going to be space combat aspect.

All in all, I'm waiting for it.

I have played both Kotors. Maybe i don't like this one because i was hoping for Kotor 3. (single player RPG)

It is awesome, i guess the star wars feeling is all there.
also Satelle apears, the descendent of bastila. and i notice that the Master of Darth Malgus is a sith/ Human Hybrid, like in the ancient sith empire on Korriban. Great intro trailer.

nice vid, I like how they used all the 4 republic classes into it nicely.

I don't like how they shamelessly keep stealing even all the traditional SW songs from the old movies. There's nothing original about this, it just leeches of the main movies in every aspect. yea, I guess you can say it does a good job at recreating the feel, but it also looks like one of those comic book things where they have the same characters but in an alternate universe with slight changes.

I actually think this new one is even better. The fact that Satele Shan is voiced by Jennifer Hale (she is, isn't she? Definitely sounds like her, the way she says "Korriban"), gives me the chills. I love KotOR soooo much!

Man, I dont know if it's because I've been seeing the awesome stuff coming from ME3 and BF3, but this trailer was just disappointing.

I mean, I guess it works in the whole "Star Wars is for kids" thing, but still, pretty lame. Especially considering it's all very good looking cinematics that won't be anything like that in-game.

well me too when i found this, a few years back, but who knows this might be a diferent experience then we ever seen. Becouse as far as i know it realy has a story to tell, and that is good enough for me.

Anyway what is the thing with Darth Malgus hes good killing Jedi masters. hes a bade ass.

indeed you quite right i noticed that, makes sence since satele shan his bastilla descendent.

I don't see why a trailer can only be one or the other, I'd think it'd be practical to accomplish both a cinematic trailer to hype the crowd while showing off game play and actually educating the crowd to your product, kill two birds with one stone. The Witcher's 2 launch trailer managed to accomplish both so it's obviously possible.

It's a choice though. Most games don't have cinematics that are ingame.

I'd rather have it than have it like KOTOR, where parts of the plot are given away through the cinematic. (Bastilla being captured and tortured by Malak.)
