    Default Frame rate configuration

    Hey lads.

I am trying to set the frame rate to max of 30FPS.
I have gone into the pref file and set it from 60 to 30. but in game it still shows up as 60FPS.

Reason I am mentioning this is because it is raising the GPU temp to 100-105c.
Using the GTX 280 can only go at a max of 105!
Never has my GPU got so hot as this :O
Normally I get 80 degrees in any game!!!

But I can't play this game with such a high temp or else I am going to blow my card!!

    Anyone got any suggestions?

As a side measure make sure to close any other applications (especially grahpics heavy ones) before playing NTW. If the problem persists it is probably time to invest in a new cooling system/take your system to a computer shop to see if your current cooling system is damaged.

Etw and ntw cook your gpu more than others so expect your card to run hotter.

That said 100c is 2 much. Download amd run this. Easier to use than riva...make sure your fan is up to 40 percent or so.

Or you can take apart the 280 and re apply thermal paste. Pretty easy to do.

These fans are good..can lower temps by a good 30c.

P.s no need to take it to a shop yet. In fact never as you can do this stuff yourself.

    Cheers lads.

I think it's time for a good tower investment.
I have had this tower for 3 years at this rate. I have noticed my side fan is barely moving :O
the air is smoking hot that comes from it too :O

Also, I have MSI afterburner and the fan is already at 95% and still bakes my GPU!

I might just take the system apart and re-apply thermal paste on the GPU and might as well apply some more to the CPU.

Or maybe I will just buy a new case...and when I do get it, I can re-apply the thermal paste for maximum effect!

    Cheers lads!

I had a mid tower. Not enough air flow enve when I cut a hole in the side of the case and installed a fan directly on the graphics card.

haf 922 is pretty good for a mid. however if you are planning on using cards like a 280 or a 5870 i suggest a full tower.

not enough space for larger cards really. but if you cant do bigger than full the haf922 is a good choice.

if u wait u might get one of these...

I must get the mid towers. I don't think I have enough room for a full tower.
I read up reviews for the HAF 922 and it's all good and recommended by most!
With it's great price tag too I can't really ignore it

I prefer the p182 or the p193 more of a clean look! for full towers I would go for the spedo! Not tonys!

    They are a bit pricey!
I would be spending 50 euro more for it.
Unless it really out performs the Cooler master HAF 922 then I am gonna have to stick with the HAF :p
Last year I was gonna buy the P182 :p
    never happened tho!

Ok I cleaned the case and everything to be dust free
Turns out It stays at 75-85 now
    Much better!!!

There was some dust on the GPU fan and vent! It caused such a heat problem!!!
But no case needed just yet
