@CaptainBirdseye: Masters of Europe gives additional units to Britain, and the other factions. This thread lists all the units.
@KingGorilla: every Total War games, includign FotS, suffers for some lacking AI. You can find several mods with AI improvement, especially for campaign since that's where modders have the most flexibility for adjustement. Try Radious, or Bran's campagin or battle for exemple. You also have overhaul mods, such as Masters of Europe, NTW3, LME... which change a lot of things, including the AI.
I have been a devoted ETW player since it was launched but am reinstalling NTW as watching You Tubers like PA at lunchtime has got me interested again - but which Mod do I try?
Vanilla NTW didnt really do it for me and I played for 50 ish hours before uninstalling it; ETW + DarthMod + Bran Mac Born + AUM + DLC has always = amusement to me.
Do I stick with DarthMod for NTW or try another Mod?
Ouchi- I would try out Darthmod Napoleon with Bran edits submod- Total Slaughter version-You will have a challenge and a hell of a fun time

I love NTW, but the Darthmod doesn't offer enough units i find, I would like install the Bart 07 mod, the foreign legions mod, the additionnal unit mod, a mod for a dense smoke in batlle and mods for BAI and CAi, can you help me for the multiple installation ? I am looking for a napoleonic mod for Napoleon Total War. I am mostly interested in unit details and the closer napoleonic experience as could. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Just reinstalled both Napoleon and Empire, along with Darthmod for both and Bran's edits, but I'm finding the same issue I always had with these games, the AI, at least in custom battles, just fires a volley or two (maybe) and then chicken dances up to melee. So basically it's Medieval Total War with muskets.
I know the AI for these games was pretty broken. But I'm wondering if anyone knows of a mod (or a way) to counter this a little? Maybe a version of Bran's edits that make the AI line up and shoot a little? I don't mind some melee, but when you have armies starting as far apart as they do in this game, drives me kind of nuts waiting and positioning units for 10-15 minutes just to have the AI banzai my lines.

i made a couple threads asking for some help, as i tried to mod myself.. im no tech savvy and its been 2 days now and i still can't find any fix to my issue..
i did many trials and errors.. none worked..
is there already a mod for 1 teach turns and recruitment that isnt that popular but gets the job done? ( i tried to search around but couldnt find any )
or does anyone have the mod already for 1 tech turn and 1 recruitment turn?
Is there any good mod about good economy and buildings in campaign?
What you need is LME4 with the submod Realism Core. I guarantee long and very nice battles with line formations and almost non existent melee. Please do give it a try.

It is not really hardcoded. But instead od f making it dynamic from the db (there is a very nice but useless table with the number of slots in a region...), everything has to be defined in the startpos.esf (and region.esf), in a complex way. I think CA has an internal tool to generate the startpos automatically . But we don't have it, and have to edit more or less manually.
It is possible to add slots, but i's a LOT of work... It seems to be working: you can see the slot, create a building, upgrade it... But there is a big BUT: if you save the game and try to load, then the game crashes. We don't have any tool or method that makes adding a slot "easy", and more importantly error free.
