Did NTW kill my Graphic Card?

Did NTW just destroy my VGA? (4870)

I was playing the Italian campaign when suddenly my game stopped working. Got a windows message saying: monitor drivers are not working well and have been restored. So i closed NTW and tried some different games. Same result, not functioning. So i deinstalled and installed the newest ATI drivers. (several times) Tried again, same result, not working. Not even a movie will run in Media Player.

Then i booted my computer with onboard VGA (ATI 3300) and yep, everything works. I then did an extended desktop to my ATI 4870. Moved the media player playing a movie onto that screen and bam, stopped working.

So what can this problem be, it is the drivers? or is my graphic card really broken?

it could be that your card has overheated. But let's do this you will open your pc and clean all that dust. then you will try to let it rest for a couple of hours (it works, hardware have hearts too) And then you will try to play something ok?

My brother has a 4870 he had to RMA, overheated all the time due to a shoddy fan.

Problem solved. I turned my computer OFF and waited for a few min. Turned it back on and it was gone. So damn wierd. Anyway, thx for the help. I even played a few hours in the campaign, Love it
