    Default Constantine III Mod Announcement

We would like to announce IB2 newest Vandals campaign sub mod: Constantine III

    INVASIO BARBARORVM 2 CONSTANTINE III
    A MathiasOfAthens project
    Art splash by char

Hailed Augustus in AD 407 he was an ordinary soldier, who would come to be known as Constantine III. A regular soldier in the garrison of Britain he came to power during the tumultuous times of the Wester Roman Empire. In a bid for the Western throne he led the last of the British legions off the island successfully campaigning in Gaul stretching his victories all the way to Northern Hispannia. After somewhat managing the Rhine from further major barbarian incursions he established his capital at Arelate, and a chance now to rewrite history.

Well whats left of the Britannia campaign is with the units and they are being taken care of by our talented modder Midnight. The campaign map is very much complete but I am sure some minor touches will be added before release.

This campaign will not slow down the work on Britannia.

Looks interesting, but I would rather see a mod were the Sassanid Empire is playable.

This is a submod based on the Vandals, so the first release will contain the same units as the latest IB2 patch. Biggest difference here is the map. More regions and larger scale. Both factions are playable. The other factions being the goths, vandals, and suebs are unplayable.

I like it, Constantine was a great faction to play with in Ruina Romae.

Well for the moment the barbarians are unplayable but that will most likely change.

Well things probably would have been even worse cause assuming constantine had won the siege of arelate he would have marched into italy and probably would have taken over italy killing the emperor. but there s a good chance thr other western provinces would have seceeded and thr eastern roman empire would have declared war on the ursuper.the western empire would have been even weaker + consrtantine fighting the rebells wouldnt have had the time and ressources to fight the barbarians in the north. Rome would have fallen earlier !

I mostly agree with the above.

The most powerful man in the West at the time was Constantius, with the Emperor as something like a figurehead. I'll follow the assumption that Constantine lifts the siege, and add an assumption of my own that Constantius is killed as well.

Obviously Constantine wasn't content being the power behind the throne, he wanted the title as well.

I'd say it is likely that more usurpers rise to challenge Constantine.
