I've a question though I never really used filters at all in ps for what I'd had to do.
Hence this question might be somewhat unconventional or just due to me not testing it but asking for it.
Why is it we copy the cut out layer in the same picture to a 2nd layer and then render the 1st layer?
Wouldn't it suffice to do the render on the first layer without the copy in the 2nd?
I know the outcome if I copy it and filter the 1st, but what is the logic behind doing so?

Do you mean when we apply the gaussian blur? If we do it on the top layer it will be very blurry, try for yourself

It's very important, it makes the render smooth since it makes it blurry 1,5 px outside of the render.

Just a suggestion. But if a specific colour in wanted in a lesson it may be an idea to use to R.G.B colour component numbers. It can sometimes be hard to get the exact shade that is required.

Yes, but I usually post a gradient pic, wich you can take colours from by copying it and then pasting it.

Good point Alex. Though I don't care really what colour you use in any of my lessons unless I post the color code. Otherwise I just leave it to your artistic license.

I'd like to take the oppotrunity and thank both of you, abbews and Subuatai, for composing and teaching such a great class!
Since I only used PS for basic purposes before taking part in this lesson, it really opened up my mind for taking a deeper look into it.
I really appreciate what you've done for us!
Keep it up and once again thank you very much, both of you!
