correct sir, my apologies Mr. Abbews, I uploaded the wrong file. After I had completed the lesson, the results looked a bit bland to my eyes. I explored some of the features of Photoshop and came up with the picture you saw above. It is simply a duplicate of the same layer but with a different gaussian blur setting and on overlay. Would you like me to upload the other one good sir?
Thanks should go to Marcel for telling me to tell you guys. Another one of those tricks you just do without thinking is my defense.
Very good job sir. Hair is the biggest pain in the backside. You did good only thing I see is directly under the arm and thumb.

P.S. I got a little carried away so I removed the blue light from her cape by the cloning tool, hope that isn't a problem...

Great. Passed.
Hmm, as you can see the edges are really choppy mate. If you could fix that up it would be great ( copy the layer, make a gaussianblur on the original and then softly erase with a soft brush on the copy layer)
Good render, altough the outcome must be transparent. I will PM you with further instructions.
Great cut. Passed.
No, that is fine, I see that you have rendered the piece. Passed.
No problem, you just show creativity Good cut, passed.

For those of you who have a trouble getting a transparent end result, check the beginning of the Pen Tool part.
I usually just make a layer out of the background image.

I probably messed up again somewhere, I'm trying to render this pic:
original
but the problem is that I do the unlocking thing ( that was why I couldn't do the thing right in the first try) in this one I have a difficult erasing the background, and when I'm done the layer that I ''create'' is the background not the render itself, that's ok but when I save the file is 5mb
well the image may not be good enough since the other plane would detach itself from the environment. maybe another pics perhaps?
here are some candidates

Here is another try, my gf thought me what I was doing wrong... its easier to just delete when you invert the selection than trying to use the brush. in the third pic I rendered the fighter in a pic of earth with macross in it.
original
render
rather heavy be warned
