Update to 1.2 won't install

I can't update to 1.2 either. When i try, i get an error: invalid or missing target D:\medieval II totalwar\data\sounds\SFX.dat.
That's weird because i checked and it's there.

What version is it as in Medieval2 dvd or partof the Gold Edition?

It has to be a clean install of 1.0 for the 1.2 patch to work.

It's a clean install, after playing ETW i decided to go back to MTW. So i installed and tried to update. It worked before so i haven't got a clue what's wrong.

Where did you download the update from? What size is your download file?

I have Kingdoms, so i have it from the DVD. Should've mentioned that, my bad.

Check the disc for scratches, dirt, fingerprints, etc. Clean it real good. Most errors like that are something on the disc playing with the laser.

Didn't work, i'm downloading the patch now, see if it happens again.

What other software have you installed since the first time you installed Medieval2?

If not, I'm thinking copy protection and hope I'm wrong.
