    Message from the Consilium Belli
We would like to thank all of those who took the time out to participate in this year's awards. The format this year was new and didn't sit well with everyone, but relatively speaking the process was successful. In running this competition we've realized some of the problems inherent in this year's format, and discussion is already ongoing about how to revise our approach for next year. It's our hope that we will be able to come to a system that values diversity, hard work, and educated voting, while still being accessible in whole or in part to the large number of players on the forums.

We would also like to thank all the modders for their stellar work during the 2009 calendar year, without whom these awards would be impossible. Our modding community has, and will continue to be, the core of our focus here at Total War Center, and recognizing their achievements is of the utmost importance to us. In this venture we will seek new ways to attach greater meaning to these awards in future years and an appreciable means of recognition for those who are awarded, especially the mods themselves. Special mention goes out to those modders who took the time to showcase their work in the Work Compilation threads on such short notice.

It's a refreshing thing to see modders of all creed in one area for the same reason, to display their craft. This is something the Modding Awards have achieved in the years they've been running, but it has been a temporary affair. Some of what the CB continues to work on in the deepest recesses of the forum includes many means of achieving this same sense of combined community with a greater permanence. When the time comes to roll out these initiatives we hope we'll have your continued support and vigor to make them a success.

Congratulations go out to all those who won awards this year, as well as all the other competitors. Best of luck in the coming year with all of your modding endeavors, and may you be a strong competitor in the 2010 awards.

    The Consilium Belli

After much adieu and delay, there we go. If you notice something awry in the announcement, please let me know; I've checked it over a few times, but I'm only human. The winners of individual awards will receive their shiny trinkets soon, and the mod winners will get a sticky announcing their victory from GED when he can get around to it.

I forgot to mention that we had to axe the 'Original Audio' award for Rome, since all who got votes in that category didn't have audio created in 2009 and released in a mod. That's not especially surprising considering the fact that so few mods have audio composed for them, but I wanted to make a note of it. It's likely to be back this next year, seeing as RS2 looks to be on the cusp of a release and they have composed audio.

EDIT: Everyone who won an award should have received it now. If not then let me know.

Congratulations to all the TWC Modders for the Blood, Sweat, & Tears that they pour into this place. And many many thanks to Augustus Lucifer for the great looking spread he worked so hard to put together....
